Effective communication between teachers and families is pivotal in building strong relationships at any preschool. It builds trust and nurtures the partnership necessary to share knowledge and experiences respectfully.
This allows us to understand what’s happening in our children’s day-to-day and to work together to support their growth and development.
It takes a village!

Hellooooo Summer!
Throughout the month of June, our SoulShiners explored all things Ocean, (just in time for those beach days ahead! 😉) and each age group brought the wonders of the sea to life in their own unique way.
What You Sea* Here: Paper octopuses (1 year olds); Handprint crabs (3-4 year olds)
Even in our Read w/ Me extracurricular class, our little ones (1year and older) made their very own Rainbow Fish using foil wrappers.
Bet you can’t tell the difference between the real sea creatures and our crafts!
The first transition of the day can be an emotional time, so let's talk about it: Drop-Off!
Keep goodbyes short and sweet. Reassure your child that you'll be back at pick-up. Maybe create a special goodbye high-five or handshake. And last but not least, trust that your teachers will support your child through the transition.
Consistent drop-off rituals such as these provide clarity and structure. Their predictability creates a sense of security that fosters resilience in our little ones, whereas lingering can increase confusion and anxiety.
Children thrive on predictability and routine, and positive drop-off routines are no different. Having a successful drop-off can make you both feel more confident about the day ahead.
Being an early childhood educator carries tremendous weight; therefore, prioritizing their mental health is essential. By supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of our teachers, we create environments where they can foster nurturing relationships and provide quality care.
Teachers, lean on your support systems and make time for mindful moments and activities that bring you joy.
Directors, support your staff by offering regular mental health check-ins, ensuring they take their full breaks, and cultivating a culture that encourages asking for help.
Remember, when we take care of ourselves, we're better equipped to care for and inspire our little ones.

At our permaculture-inspired preschool, we believe even the smallest hands can help care for the world around them. By teaching our little ones to garden, nurture living things, and share resources, we’re helping raise thoughtful, compassionate stewards of the future.
The seeds we plant today will grow for generations to come.

Hello, June!
We’re so excited to welcome a new month filled with sunshine, water play, and garden discoveries here at SoulShine! June is the perfect time for our little ones to dig in the dirt and explore nature, and that means more opportunities for learning and creating meaningful, messy moments together!
Tuesday Tips with Ms. Tobie!
A healthy classroom ecosystem starts with connection. When parents and teachers partner together, preschoolers feel supported and ready to grow. Every conversation, shared routine, and encouraging moment helps create a nurturing environment where children can learn and thrive together.
Thank you for being such an important part of our classroom community!
