Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is pleased to share that Dr. Dee Haney, Clayton County Board of Education Representative for District 5, will partner with the Bethlehem City of Faith to host the 10th Annual Back to School Bash. This event will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 514 Valley Hill Road SE, in Riverdale. The bash will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will end at 3:00 p.m. Please see the attached flyer below to register for styles and cuts or to sign up as a vendor for this event.

Clayton County Public Schools to Host 2026 Band Camp Performance Showcasing Student Talent
Jonesboro, GA — June 17, 2026 — The Clayton County Public Schools Department of Fine Arts proudly invites families, friends, and community members to attend the 2026 Clayton County Band Camp Performance on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Mt. Zion High School Gymnasium.
This highly anticipated event will highlight the dedication, growth, and musical achievements of student musicians from across Clayton County who have participated in this year’s summer band camp. Throughout the week, students have enhanced their musical skills, strengthened leadership abilities, and prepared an engaging performance for the community.
The program will feature guest conductor Dr. Shelby Chipman, Director of Bands at Florida A&M University. A nationally respected educator and conductor, Dr. Chipman brings a wealth of experience and inspiration, offering students a unique opportunity to learn under his expert guidance.

Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS), in compliance with the 2025-2026 Employee Calendar, will be closed on the following dates during the month of June. All offices and schools will close as follows:
Friday, June 19, 2026 – Holiday in observance of Juneteenth (The district will return to regular scheduled hours on Monday, June 22, 2026.)
Friday, June 26, 2026 – Non-work Day
Lastly, the district will close in recognition of Summer Break beginning Monday, June 29, through Friday, July 3, 2026. The district will return to regular scheduled hours on Monday, July 6, 2026 for the first day of the 2026-2027 school year.

Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is excited to welcome back students for the first day of school on Monday, August 3, 2026. In preparation for the return to school, with respect to the safety of all students and staff, as a reminder, the district will only allow students to carry clear bookbags for the 2026-2027 school year. This decision applies to all students in all grade levels.
The district will not provide clear bookbags to students. Parents/guardians/caregivers are required to purchase clear bookbags for their students. For more information on the clear bookbag mandate, please see the attached flyer.

We are excited to announce that Clayton County Public Schools will host its annual College Send Off on August 2, 2026, at the Mt. Zion High School, from Noon until 2 PM. We're looking for mentors for our students in the 2026-2027 school year.
To make this event a success, we kindly ask all mentors from your college/ university to collaborate and set up tables with school paraphernalia. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share encouraging information with students heading to your Alma Mater. If you'd like to provide giveaways at your table, please feel free! Please share with others that may have attended your school as well.

We aim for each student to have someone they can speak with during the event. During this time you will be able to share experience, suggestions and contacts with the students.
Additionally, we are pleased to have a community pastor as well as a parent and student from last year join us to pray for our college-bound students and share their first year of college experience. If you would please confirm your attendance on or before July 24, 2026 by Noon.
