I am so thrilled to be returning to the Power Living Australia studios in Sydney for 3 days in February! Back home to where my Australian journey began.

I'll be spending the day of Friday the 16th of Feb in the Manly studio teaching 3 classes. Back to the room where I spent countless hours over years of teaching. Feels like coming home.

On the 17th of Feb, I'll be heading down to Bondi Beach for a handstand workshop where we'll break down the key fundamentals of exploring an inversion practice.

And on the 18th of Feb I'll be back in Manly for REST, a Yoga Nidra Day Retreat. We get to spend the day together truly dropping in to stillness, sleep and rest and explore the deep resounding benefits of balancing your doing with non-doing.

Book in through the link and let me know if you'll be there!

There is a beautiful balance between logic and creativity in yoga asana sequencing that deeply appeals to me. There is a part of me that is satisfied when I see the postures fit together like an algebraic equation where all sides are balanced and by the end, we have solved for x. There is an equally dominant part of me that feels the music and artistry of a sequence, with moments of stress and resolution, a symphony of movement telling a wordless story that has the capacity to transform us at our deepest levels.

There are rules to follow, and there are rules to break. The answer to the question WHY? is heard on every exhale, within every transition and every long hold beckoning you to realise that it is through patience and surrender that you discover your own strength.

On January 30th, we will begin to explore the artistry and science of sequencing in Dynamic Landscapes. This training runs for two weekends at Power Living Adelaide Yoga in Adelaide, South Australia and is available to attend both in-person and on livestream. In addition to this, the entire content of the training will be available to stream any time online for 6 weeks. The link will lead you to more information on the offering and I am always here to answer any questions.

It is always hard to believe that the courageous step is so close to us, that it is closer than we ever could imagine, that in fact, we already know what it is, and that the step is simpler, more radical than we had thought: just sitting down to the desk, just picking up the instrument or the phone: which is why we so often prefer to live in an almost world, why we prefer the story to be more elaborate, our identities to be safely clouded by fear, why we want the horizon to remain always in the distance, the promise never fully and simply made, the essay longer than it needs to be and the answer safely in the realm of impossibility.

These souls of ours are fortunate enough to be housed in bodies of organised water.

One element of self-care is taking the time to ensure that these vessels remain vibrant, well-hydrated, and able to navigate through this journey with ease and vitality.

Myofascial Release has been a practice that I have relied on heavily to heal injuries, maintain mobility and settle the issues that inevitably arise in our day to day movement.

On July 25-26 and August 1-2 I will be running The Ties That Bind, a Myofascial Release Training at Power Living Adelaide. We will explore the anatomy and function of fascia and how we can use movement, rolling techniques and mindfulness to ensure that this scaffolding of our structure continues to support us throughout our lives. This training is available both in person and through livestream.

What’s better than being in self-isolation on a Monday night?

Coming together online with an epic community of yogis for ’s Modern Yogi Project!

This 6 week program will teach us how to apply to the traditional concepts of yoga into our daily lives. (Pretty important and relevant right now...) We’ll take a good look at some techniques that allow us to stay calm and centered amongst the turbulence and uncertainty of the current state of the world. From asana to meditation and breath control, self enquiry and community discussions; we’ll dig into as much of it as we can and see how we can use it to change the way we handle stress and unknowing.

Let’s [virtually] hang out & tighten the threads of community in a time when we need it the most. 🌏

MYP is now free for members. Email [email protected] to sign up!

This is what community feels like.

The Power Living Adelaide Yoga team has come together and created a 100% virtual yoga studio. We will be offering 6 daily classes, daily meditations, meditation clubs, talks, and development programs all online.

Although Australia might be delayed in the direct impact that COVID-19 is having on the people of the community, we all passionately agreed that to maintain alignment in our hearts, to hold fast to the tenant of Ahimsa, and to best serve our community, we have made this transition to the fully digital platform. We believe that physical distancing is important to flatten the curve, but still want to maintain close social contact with those who see our studio as an oasis from the turbulent waters of these times.

All of our classes will be live streamed, and the process to participate is simple. Head to the link below to see the full schedule, register and sign up through MBO, and you will be emailed a direct link to the class 5 minutes before the start time. Drop-in rates and 10 class passes are available for those who are not active members.

I will be posting my schedule on stories every couple of days in both my local time zone and in Eastern Daylight Time so that those in the US can join in when the time zones align.

The next class I’ll be streaming will be Sunday morning at 7:30am Adelaide time. That lines up with Saturday evening, 5pm EDT in the US.

Stay safe, stay healthy, take care of each other, and be kind.

Maybe part of this evolution is gaining the ability to realize at lower and lower altitudes that you have been climbing the wrong mountains.

One of my dear friends recently asked me what I was most looking forward to in 2020. I sat for a moment, my mind wandering through the calendar in my mind, and it landed on June and July when I get to see YogaBeyond and Yoga with Briohnyin Thailand for our 200 Hour and 300 Hour Teacher Trainings. Almost two months of wild shenanigans, quiet heart connections, tropical fruit and Thai massages, and leading a diverse group of students through their teacher training journey. Invitation is open for you to join us. All of the details are on the web, hit the link to check it out.

Over the past few years I have had the privilege of spending time in some amazing yoga communities around the world. Each city and each studio has taught me something different, and each community is making an impact as a shining light, a beacon of good human beings striving to bring more kindness, awareness and compassion into this world.

Every time that I have visited Power Living Adelaide, I have connected deeply with the artful way that Tessa Leon, Triton Tunis-Mitchell and the whole team have created a vessel for seekers in Adelaide to come and learn, practice, move, heal, to see and to be seen. They are a stand for sustainability, for our environment in this climate crisis and every decision that they have made around the business has aligned with their highest values. It is so clearly reflected in the beautiful people that have chosen to teach, work, practice, train and play at the studio.

I am so happy to announce that in January I will be relocating back to Australia to base myself in Adelaide, joining the inspiring team at Power Living Adelaide as they open their new Glenelg studio. I will still be traveling and teaching, but the bulk of my time will be spent in the studios in ADL and I am so excited to build a home, to settle in for a bit, and to lend my voice to the chorus of this thriving community.

See you soon, Adelaide. Can’t wait to come home.
