Every strong, independent woman needs a soft place to land whether she thinks she does or not.

I’ve been half-loved for so long, I almost forgot.

He reminds me that when I done slayin’ dragons (‘cause womanhood ain’t always easy) to lay my head on his shoulders.

I hope you land where you are loved, supported, respected and protected. 🙏🏿

Hair will always be about connection to culture and self expression.

As I relearn and embrace my locless head full of virgin white hair, I had to go back to the beginning for inspiration. Thank goodness for photos!

As a 70s baby, I didn’t realize the ‘fro has always been a part of my hair story thanks to my mother and father.

History tells us that Afros began as rebellion and a statement of Black Pride during a political climate that was ugly and divisive.

Hair we go again.

Y’all voted on me rockin’ an Afro. I’m working on it. 😊

Peace, love and hair grease. 💜

Have you ever done something for someone then immediately regretted it because you really didn’t want to do it?
______
That’s happened to me and I found myself mad at the other person who had no idea that I was having an internal battle that had nothing to do with them.
________
Personal development is about acknowledgment, shifting and practicing the new shift. Here are seven things I’ve learned to do to stop wasting my energy saying “yes” when I really meant “no”.
____
1. Other people aren’t mind readers.
2. You are responsible for what you allow.
3. You get to decide based on what works best for you.
4. People treat you the way you allow them to treat you.
5. Guilt shouldn’t be apart of decision making.
6. Saying “no” doesn’t make you a bad person.
7. Boundaries can be a blessing when you learn how to use them to protect your “peace” of mind.
________
What do you think about this?
