Happy New Year! We extend our best wishes for an outstanding year ahead. A quick note that our winter break is nearing an end, and students will return to school on January 6th.

Quick shout out to our families: because of you we were able to raise $6,021.26 for Jump Rope for Heart. Thank you!

Reminder, tomorrow is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 11:10 AM. Both breakfast and lunch will be provided.

If you are picking up students through the car rider line, please ensure you arrive on time. Given that it's an early release day and the last day before the Christmas break, we anticipate that the line will move swiftly.

We want to send a quick Thank You to Locust Elementary PTA for providing our staff Emricci's for lunch today, we enjoyed it.

The Sunshine Committee provided a wonderful surprise for our staff today, consisting of pepperoni and cheese pizza. Each staff member also received a small gift from Principal Dr. Furr, boosting morale as the Christmas break draws near. We love our staff! 💚🐴

Today our staff was provided with hot chocolate and cookies by the Sunshine Committee, a pleasant treat on this cold December day.

Due to local weather conditions, all Stanly County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Staff will also operate on a two-hour delay.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and this decision was made after careful consideration of current and forecasted conditions and consultation with emergency management services of current and forecasted conditions.

We encourage you to continue monitoring the Stanly County Schools district website, district and school pages, and School Messenger calls for the most up-to-date information regarding school schedules and any potential changes.

Yesterday, we celebrated the outstanding achievements of our students in their Science Fair projects. We have witnessed some impressive projects this year. Congratulations to Sadie Hall (1st place), Luke Fraley (2nd place), and Claire Servel (3rd place).
