HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Future City teams for a wonderful 2025-26 season!
Our challenge this year was to design a city that solves food waste challenges 100 years into the future. Our high school and middle school teams were absolutely brilliant in meeting this engineering design challenge head-on, with our middle school team taking home **4th place in the state!**
This is our third year in a row with a top 5 finish! So proud of our students!

This Giving Tuesday, we’re inviting our community to help us expand access to high-quality STEM education in Charlotte.
At STEM Skool, our mission is simple: make STEM learning accessible, hands-on, and meaningful for every child, not just those with privilege or proximity.
This year, we took a huge step forward. We began transforming our Rama Road site into a community-centered STEM learning space where students can explore, build, solve problems, and develop the skills needed for the future workforce.
There’s still more work to do, and we can’t do it alone.
If STEM Skool has made an impact on your family…
If you care about creating more opportunities for Charlotte’s kids…
If you believe in the power of education to change futures…
We would be grateful for your support today.
Every contribution, large or small, helps us build a space where children from all backgrounds can learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you for walking with us, cheering us on, and believing in this work. Together, we’re shaping Charlotte’s future leaders. 💛🌱
Our students got an up-close look at real innovation at the from composting to plastic remanufacturing!
Maaseyah and Genette shared their favorite moments, and honestly? Their excitement says it all.
This is what happens when kids see science in action: curiosity grows, confidence rises, and the world opens up.
If you want more moments like this, more hands-on learning, more field trips, more future engineers, help us build our new STEM Learning Center in East Charlotte.
Your donation fuels the experiences that change everything.
Donate today and be part of the future we’re building together. 💛

Last week, STEM Skool brought fresh curiosity and real-world discovery to our Earth and Environmental Science theme.
Students continued exploring the circular economy and then watched those ideas come alive during our Innovation Barn field trip, where they observed composting, textile upcycling, and plastic remanufacturing.
Our teens joined Dr. Ge for a Study Skills Workshop at Independence Regional Library.
We also welcomed STEM Skool parent and wellness expert Arielle Larmondra, who shared meaningful insights on functional medicine and nutrition.
We ended the week with a joyful Friendsgiving lunch for our middle and high school students, who prepared nut-free and shellfish-free dishes to share.
It was a vibrant week of learning and community for our STEM Skool family. 🌾🌱

What an inspiring event! 🌍
We were honored to welcome Olawale Adebiyi, CEO of , for a conversation that reminded us what innovation, determination, and purpose can achieve.
From his roots in Lagos, Nigeria, to leading one of Africa’s most groundbreaking recycling companies, Olawale showed us how engineering, business, and community impact can come together to build a cleaner, smarter world. ♻️
💡 We learned how incentive-based recycling transforms families and cities — keeping waste out of the environment while creating opportunity.
🌆 Students left inspired to rethink how we design future cities.
đź’¬ And everyone walked away with new ideas about sustainability and global connection.
A huge thank you to Mr. Adebiyi for sharing his story and to everyone who joined us for this powerful conversation. Let’s keep building toward a future where innovation and ecology work hand in hand.

Fun Fact Friday! 🤓
Did you know the first remote control was invented way back in 1901 by Spanish engineer Leonardo Torres Quevedo?
More than a century later, his innovation continues to shape how we interact with technology - from TVs to drones to smart homes. 🔧
The future of STEM is diverse. It’s curious, creative, and unstoppable.
Look at these young innovators - curiosity in their eyes, confidence in their posture, and joy in discovery.
At STEM Skool, students aren’t just learning about science; they’re becoming the engineers, coders, and creators who will shape tomorrow.

At STEM Skool, we love connecting students to amazing humans. And you know we weren't missing an opportunity to see one of the most incredible scientists around! đź”
Thank you for Neil deGrasse Tyson for being a role model to our students and pushing them to believe in their wildest dreams.

Nine years ago, Dr. Ge began STEM Skool because Charlotte needed a place where every child could feel welcomed in STEM.
What began as an idea has grown into full classrooms, waitlists, and students who now see themselves as innovators.
Now comes our biggest milestone yet. STEM Skool has secured a permanent home!
Construction is underway, and we are raising $100,000 by December 31 toward this $1 million project to finish the work and open the doors.
This is not just about a building. It is about creating a place where Charlotte’s children can discover their brilliance and prepare for the future.
