Junior Sienna Graves became Braswell High School’s first-ever UIL Academics state champion after winning the Class 6A Theatrical Marketing title at the UIL State Meet. From posters and program designs to social media campaigns and promotional items, Graves’ award-winning campaign for The King Stag earned her the top spot in Texas.

The historic finish also highlighted a huge weekend for Braswell Theatre and UIL Academics, with senior Kendall Eiffert placing third in the state and junior Brandy London competing among the top costume designers in Texas.

Today we take a moment to congratulate and recognize our two newspaper seniors - Dara Comport & Kylie West. Dara & Kylie started in 2023 as our staff writers. They were promoted to Co-Editors-in-Chief during the 24-25 school year and were instrumental in getting a print edition of The Bengal Beat out this week for the senior class. We are so proud of our newspaper seniors - both of whom will be studying at the University of North Texas starting in the fall. Congratulations to both of you! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for you!

For four years, senior Macy Wingard has been one of the most dominant distance runners in Texas. Now, she can add another accomplishment to her already historic career: UIL State Champion in the 3200-meter run.

Wingard claimed the Class 6A state title in the 3200 meter run at the UIL State Track and Field Meet on Saturday, May 16, at the University of Texas at Austin adding a track championship to a résumé that already included three UIL State Cross Country championships. With the victory, she further cemented herself as one of the most accomplished athletes in school history.

Congratulations! The Braswell High School Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony is just a few weeks away, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with your graduate and your family. Please review the information below carefully so that you are fully prepared for the big day.

Ceremony Details
• Date: Friday, May 22, 2026
• Ceremony Start: 3:00 PM
• Doors Open: 2:00 PM (one hour prior)
• Location: UNT Coliseum ("The Super Pit"), 601 N. Texas Blvd., Denton, TX 76201

To keep our ceremonies safe and running smoothly, the UNT Coliseum (Super Pit) enforces the following policies for every guest:
• Clear bag policy: Only clear bags or small clutch purses are permitted. Medical and diaper bags will be screened at the gate.
• Walk-through metal detectors: All guests, graduates, and staff are screened at every entrance. Plan extra time for your arrival.
• Guest entry: Gates A and E only — these are the sole guest entrances.
• Doors open one hour before each ceremony begins.
• Prohibited items: Any prohibited items must be returned to your vehicle. There is no item storage available at the Coliseum.
• No seat saving and no standing in aisles — please plan to arrive together.
• No access to the arena floor at any time during the ceremony.
• Graduates enter through the West Tunnel (late arrivals: North Tunnel) and exit through the South Tunnel, where they will reunite with family outside the Coliseum. Family and friends are not permitted in the line-up room, and there is no re-entry.

Ceremony programs will be available at guest entrances.

ADA-accessible seating and parking are available — first come, first serve.

For family and friends unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be livestreamed. The graduation livestream link will be emailed out in advance.
