Our second ever Ramirez Art Show was another incredible success tonight. 🎨🖤💛

Walking through the room and seeing the creativity, talent, and growth displayed by our students was something special. From paintings and sketches to photography and mixed media pieces, every display reflected hours of hard work, imagination, and courage.

A huge thank you to Mr. Ramirez for continuing to pour into our students and for giving them a space where their creativity can shine. We are proud of every student who shared their work tonight and grateful to everyone who came out to support them.

There is so much talent inside the walls of O.P. Norman, and tonight was a beautiful celebration of that. 🦁 🎨🖌️🖼️

38 of our 6th grade students entered the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest this past October.

The Patriot's Pen is a nationwide youth essay competition sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Affairs. These students wrote
300-400 word essay on the topic, "How are you showing patriotism and support for your country?"

The following students placed at the Post level and were awarded scholarships for their efforts.
1st Place - Piper Hall
2nd Place - Michael Martinez
3rd Place - Mateo Cortez

The contest is open to 6th-8th grade students across the nation and students have the opportunity to win up to $5,000 for entries who win at the National Level.

We are so proud of our outstanding students and thankful for opportunities to work with our community on multiple levels!

We are ending the school year by adding 5 new character wall kiddos!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Mrs. McNeely nominated Kash Thomas and Jerry Payne for integrity. "Kash and Jerry both, separately, found lost cash on the floor during Morrowland and brought it directly to turn it in. It would have been very easy to just pocket the money and use it but Kash and Jerry are above all that. These sweet young men know what's right and act on it. We are super proud to have them as part of the O.P. Norman Jr. High community!"

Mrs. McNeely nominated Everett Taylor for kindness. "At the end of Morrowland, Everett had some homemade dessert bars left over and personally delivered the extras to the other students and their families that had been working their booths. Everett is always top tier when it comes to politeness and good manners and this is yet another example of that. Thank you, kiddo, for being so great!"

Mrs. McNeely nominated Stella Archer for leadership. "It was hard to pick just one character trait for which to nominate Miss Stella. She's an outstanding young lady who goes above and beyond to take care of the office's needs during the 5th period. She's an office aide during one of the very busiest times of the day for the front office and she is always there to lend a helping hand when it comes to transporting messages and lunches from the cafeteria and back. She has also stepped up as a leader amongst her peers and created a student group that meets often on campus. She provides numerous positive contributions to our O.P. Norman community and does it with the sweetest smile and authentic enthusiasm. Thank you for being your precious self, Stella! You are a blessing to everyone you meet!"

Mrs. Arrington nominated Megan Pedroza for respect and integrity. "There has not been a day that goes by that I have handed something to Megan that she hasn't told me Thank you. She shows so much integrity as no matter who is watching or where she is, she is respectful and thoughtful of others."

As always, thank you for sharing your precious children with us!!!

Enjoy your summer and we can’t wait to see them in August!!! 😎☀️⛱️
