Hetal Nagaraj, Hetal Nagaraj Dance-International is moving back to plano location (from allen to downsize on locations b’coz of drive time and other weekday work).
Congratulations to all Folk grads and the Bharatanatyam Thillana Grads. Certificates as discussed.
Those locations were created “new” in 2022-2023 for newer choreographers, interns or volunteers that were hired for various services and programs.
Ms hetal was not supposed to come there and somehow ms hetal had to.
Luckily some moved back to plano and other areas of services at other locations.
Wishing the rest, the best!
All the others were either resumed, ongoing or had routine activities from nearly decade+.

*** some pics may be similar(coz of one costume) and are in multiple genres as our dancers take trainings in multiple genres and usually never dance for 5 mins.
Usually their participations are in medleys in multiple genres one after the other for 10 mins. Minimum.
It’s not a fusion if it is a medley 🙂.

If you think folk dances are just about expressions then you are wrong. Folk dances are about techniques and these techniques showcases the regional influences of cultures and yes, just like all the others evolved, folk dances evolved to folk dances on stages for which there is specific set of techniques by each folk. This is for all folk dances. Facts!
Technically, all dances have elements of expressons(which is part of drama) other than "step/mend the body" techniques! Techniques have one tiny section of "expression"(that's in drama).
It is about moods of dance/song and such other technicalities as well. It will be awkward and stupid if you'll smile and dance in sad songs or songs with sad moods. Know which expressions to match in what moods and in which songs :). It is this simple. It will also be super awkward if you would show techniques of some other folk in other folk that does not showcase influences of that region. eg - showcasing bhangra steps in garba. haha. what's the point of that folk name then!
do not confuse similarities in movements to that of techniques! That's whole different story on whole different level. This is Hetal Nagaraj Dance that specializes in all the folk dances + all those specialities in performing arts and thus can easily outline each of them on paper. massive differences.
technically, u can do anything you want in parties! haha.
