This proposal could significantly impact beauty, barber, and wellness schools, students, and future professionals nationwide.

At the center of pending federal legislation is one central fact that reaches far beyond barber and cosmetology education programs. Students who borrow large amounts of federal or private loans may enter repayment with monthly payments that exceed their entry-level earnings.

“Do No Harm” refers to students who are worse off financially after completing post-secondary training that they were before enrolling.

It’s important to understand the basis of pending changes to federal accountability framework and higher education reform.
