Reminder for families! Our student information system is transitioning to a new and improved platform this summer — Skyward Qmlativ. Here's what that means for your family between now and the first day of school:

📌 Now – July 17 | Skyward SMS is available in read-only mode. If there are documents you may need this summer — unofficial transcripts, report cards, records, etc. — download them before July 17.

📌 July 13 | Online enrollment reopens in the new Qmlativ system.

📌 July 17 – Aug. 2 | The Skyward app will be temporarily offline. A browser link will be available during this window for document access.

📌 Aug. 3 | Family Access opens in Skyward Qmlativ! Delete and reinstall the Skyward app on your device and sign back in to get started.

📌 Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. | Student schedules are released for all grade levels.

Please help us welcome John Edwards to the Killian family!

Mr. Edwards is entering his 7th year teaching Mathematics in Lewisville ISD and his 12th year teaching in the North Texas area. Throughout his career, he has also coached football and wrestling. A self-proclaimed history and math enthusiast, Mr. Edwards is passionate about helping students develop problem-solving skills and build a strong understanding of mathematics. He is a graduate of Ithaca College, where math was always one of his favorite subjects.

Mr. Edwards and his wife are proud parents of their grown children, Nick and Emmy. In his spare time, he enjoys playing pickleball, reading, and spending time with their Goldendoodle, Heidi. He is excited to connect with the students and families of Killian Middle School and looks forward to a fun, engaging, and successful school year.

Sarah Barrow is so excited to begin her first-year teaching at Arbor Creek Middle School and Killian Middle School and deeply grateful to work with Mrs. Bayles and Ms. Herrera! She earned her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of North Texas College of Music. Ms. Barrow is a passionate music educator and soprano. She strives to make every student feel welcome and capable of musical excellence at every level.

In her free time, she is most likely outside in nature, playing with her cat Winnie, or watching movies with her fiancé, Jacob. She is so excited to create excellent music with your students!

We are excited to welcome Stefanie Herrera as our new Choir Director!

Ms. Herrera is honored to serve as the new Head Choir Director at Killian Middle School. She is entering her sixth year of teaching. She previously directed middle school choir in Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District and most recently served as Director of Choirs at Maine West High School in the Chicagoland area.

Ms. Herrera earned her Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education from the University of North Texas and will complete her Master of Music Education degree in August 2026. She is excited to join the Killian community and looks forward to continuing the program’s strong tradition of musical excellence and student achievement!

Please join us in welcoming Cami Collins to the Killian Middle School family as our new math teacher!

Cami is excited to begin her seventh year teaching in LISD. The district holds a special place in her heart, as both she and her husband, along with many of their family members, are proud LISD graduates. They now have two children of their own, and she is thrilled that they will also have the opportunity to grow and learn in LISD schools.

Outside of teaching, Cami enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and getting lost in a good book. She is looking forward to an amazing school year and is excited to join the team at Killian Middle School.
