“From the streets of Mexico City to the Dallas skyline. As a little girl, I would line up my stuffed animals and play teacher. I had no classroom, no stage, no audience—only a dream. I never imagined that one day I would stand overlooking Dallas, surrounded by people who believe, as deeply as I do, that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Cosmic Minds Fund’s LoterĂa Night was more than a gala. It was proof that a community can come together around a shared vision and turn generosity into opportunity. Yes, the sponsorships, donations, and auction bids matter because they will help provide scholarships, support teachers, strengthen classrooms, and create opportunities for children. But what moved me most wasn’t the fundraising—it was the conversations. Everywhere I turned, people were talking about children, education, possibility, and a better future. Guests played LoterĂa, danced salsa, enjoyed mariachi music, shared laughter, and celebrated together, yet the heart of the evening never changed: children remained at the center. As I looked across the room, I thought about the journey that brought me here. A little girl with a dream became a teacher. A teacher became a school founder. Today, that mission lives through Cosmos Montessori, Cosmic Minds Fund, our educators, our families, our supporters, and every child whose life is touched by this work. It also lives through my daughter, who tells me she wants to be my boss one day! And honestly, I hope she is. What began as a dream in the heart of one little girl has become a movement powered by people who believe education can change lives. Saturday night reminded me that we are no longer building something for today—we are building something that will outlive us all. To every sponsor, donor, volunteer, educator, parent, board member, and friend who joined us: thank you. You didn’t simply attend a gala. You became part of a legacy. And to the little girl from Mexico City who dreamed of being a teacher: look how far we’ve come. The dream was never just yours.
