Robin and I got the chance to meet Todd Durkin at Impact-X Performance in San Diego today. I’ve followed him for close to 20 years. I’ve completed his “Get Your Mind Right” mental performance for athletes course and have all of his books, most of them autographed. I reached out to him when I knew we were going to be in San Diego and he graciously invited us to stop by his gym. It’s an amazing place with training, recovery, and life coaching under one roof. He’s every bit the guy I thought he would be. I really hope I have the chance to work with him in the future and help him reach his goal of impacting 100 million people. Todd, thank for all you do. It was an honor to spend a few minutes in the same room with you. Thanks for treating us like family!

A logo is not just decoration—it is a visual shorthand for identity. Every element should communicate who a brand is and what it stands for. Meaning creates purpose; purpose creates recognition.

I wanted to share what the IronHeart Coaching logo means and what I plan to bring to the men who are looking for more. Those that truly want to become better men and are willing to do the work necessary to succeed.

I use this term “Warrior King”. What does it really mean and why do I use it for IronHeart Coaching?

I believe that God has called men for certain purposes. These include to Protect, to Provide, to Lead, and to Serve.

We’ll explore each of these more in depth in the future, but for now…

A Warrior must Protect and Serve. A King must Lead and Provide.

To truly Love, Honor, and Serve God, men must learn how to do all four of these, becoming a Warrior King.

This is my purpose with IronHeart Coaching. Guiding men to fulfill these roles in every aspect of their life.

The name IronHeart Coaching is based in scripture. Specifically Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” (ESV)

In the ancient world, iron tools and blades were sharpened by rubbing, grinding, or striking iron against iron. The process involved friction and pressure. It wasn’t always gentle, but it made the tool stronger and more effective.

Applied to people, the proverb means that healthy relationships shape and improve us. The right people can sharpen our thinking, character, faith, skills, and judgment.

Because the process is not gentle and involves friction, it isimportant to remember that we must “sharpen” each other with love and compassion. Hence, IronHeart.

While most people understand the word coach, what is typically missed is the relationship aspect. Coaching is a collaborative, goal-focused partnership between a coach and another person in which the coach supports the individual’s learning, growth, performance, and development. Rather than simply giving instructions or solving problems for someone, the relationship is built on trust, communication, active listening, and guided questioning that helps the person discover solutions, build skills, and reach desired outcomes.

If you put that all together, it explains and defines everything I hope to accomplish through IronHeart Coaching. It’s not simply giving people answers. It’s guiding and helping them find their own answers based on their values and goals. It’s helping men become “Warrior Kings” in their own careers, relationships, and lives.

It’s not about beaches and barbecues. Remember. Honor. Never forget.

This is going to rub some people the wrong way, but it needs to be said...

I've been seeing a lot of posts lately asking for personal trainer recommendations. I've even been tagged in a few. Most people asking for the "best" personal trainer, don't need a personal trainer. They need a COACH! What's the difference you might ask? The difference is huge. A personal trainer understands human movement and physiology. They can help you change your body. A COACH understands human behavior and motivation. They can help you change your LIFE!

A quick internet search can give you all the information you need that a personal trainer can give you. What exercises to do, proper form, basic nutrition information, etc. It's all there for free. Do you know why personal trainers love to sell 90 day challenges, or packages? Because they know you can do anything for 30, 60, or 90 days. You'll see results and be happy. And then, because you didn't do the hard work of changing your life and behavior, you'll go back to your old ways, the weight comes back, and you think you've failed, so you hire that trainer again, thinking they are the ones that got you results. And the cycle repeats.

A COACH, on the other hand, goes deeper into behavior change. They teach you to change your mindset, not just your body. They get you to dig deep into motivations, reasons, and help you get to the bottom of the root problem, not the symptoms. A COACH teaches you how to do the work and maintain it long after you stop paying them. A good COACH never wants you to fail and come back and pay them again.

If you want to change your body, hire a personal trainer. If you want to change your LIFE, hire a COACH! 🩶⚔️

Whether you realize it or not … how you think of yourself will determine the outcome of your life.

Here's how it works...

If you think success in life is reserved for certain "lucky" people, and you don't have what it takes to be successful...

You will close yourself off to success and always struggle.

But if you actually believe you have what it takes to be successful in life as long as you work hard enough, and for long enough...

Nobody can stop you from winning.

This isn't rocket science...

The problem is most people don't have belief in themselves because they have never stuck anything out long enough to produce real fruit.

Because they have never stuck anything out long enough to learn how The Universe works (work = results = belief) they falsely believe they dont have what it takes.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth...

Success is meant for you...

Just as much as it's meant for me.

Just as much as it's meant for anyone else.

Stop listening to people who have never done anything and start listening to that little bitty meek voice inside that knows you are capable…

…because you are.

You just gotta grind it out until it becomes apparent to you…

…and you’re off to the races.

The work always comes before the belief.

Understand that and work within that framework until it’s not only you who believes…

…it’s the entire world.
