As we observe Juneteenth, we remember that every person is created equal and is worthy of dignity, love, and respect.
This day serves as a reminder that freedom brings responsibilityβthe responsibility to care for one another, to stand for what is right, and to create spaces where healing and hope can flourish.
At Kidz Thrive, we are humbled by the trust placed in us to serve children and families. We remain committed to providing safe, nurturing homes where children can experience stability, encouragement, and the opportunity to thrive.
"Every child deserves to be seen, heard, and loved in a nurturing home. They don't just growβthey thrive."
In observance of Juneteenth, our office will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026.

π Family Reunification Month Vocabulary π
Word of the Week: Permanency
Throughout June, we've been talking about family reunification and the important role foster families play in supporting children and families during difficult seasons.
As we've shared, reunification is the primary goal of foster care whenever it is safe and possible.
But sometimes reunification cannot occur. When that happens, the focus shifts to another important goal: permanency.
π Permanency means a stable, lasting family connection that provides a child with safety, belonging, and lifelong support.
Recently, we had the joy of celebrating a special adoption involving one of our Kidz Thrive foster families. What began as a fostering journey became a forever family.
While Kidz Thrive licenses and supports foster families throughout their fostering journey, we are grateful for community partners like Matching Hearts, who came alongside this family during the adoption process.
This adoption is a beautiful example of permanency in action.
It also reminds us that helping children thrive is a community effort. Foster families, child placing agencies, adoption professionals, caseworkers, courts, and community partners all play a role in helping children find safety, stability, and belonging.
π Reunification when possible.
π Permanency when needed.
π Children at the center of it all.
Thank you to our incredible foster family for answering the call, and thank you to Matching Hearts for partnering alongside them on this journey.

π Follow-Up Friday π
Throughout Family Reunification Month, we've been sharing about the importance of supporting families on the journey toward reunification.
Reunification is the primary goal of foster care because we believe children belong with their families whenever it is safe and possible.
However, not every foster care case results in reunification.
Sometimes, despite the efforts of many people, reunification is no longer possible. In those situations, the focus shifts to finding permanency for the childβa safe, stable, and loving family where they can grow, thrive, and belong.
Today, we are celebrating an adoption and the beautiful gift of a forever family. π
While Kidz Thrive licenses foster homes rather than completing adoptions ourselves, we have the privilege of walking alongside foster families throughout their fostering journey. We witness the love, commitment, patience, and dedication they pour into children each day. Sometimes that journey leads to reunification, and sometimes it leads to adoption.
Both outcomes are rooted in the same goal: ensuring children have the safety, stability, and permanency they deserve.
Today we celebrate a child finding a forever family and a family who answered the call to open their hearts and home.
π Please join us in celebrating this special milestone and congratulating this family!

π Family Reunification Month π
What is reunification?
When many people hear the word reunification, they think of a child simply returning home.
But reunification is much more than a momentβit is a journey.
It is the process of restoring a family after a period of separation through healing, growth, support, and hope.
During that journey, parents may be working to overcome challenges, build stability, strengthen parenting skills, secure housing, maintain employment, participate in counseling, or complete services designed to help them provide a safe and healthy home for their children.
This is where foster families play an important role.
Foster parents are not replacing families. They are providing love, safety, stability, and care while parents work toward reunification. They are helping children thrive during a difficult season and supporting the possibility of a stronger future for the entire family.
At Kidz Thrive, we believe that when families receive the support they need, healing can happen, hope can grow, and lives can be transformed.
Throughout June, we'll be sharing more about Family Reunification Month and the important role foster families play in supporting children and families on this journey.

π Follow-Up Friday π
This week, we had the privilege of meeting new families during orientation, and our hearts are full.
There is something incredibly special about watching people answer the call to serve children and families. Every person who attends an orientation, asks questions, submits an application, or begins the licensing journey represents another opportunity for hope, healing, and support.
Foster care isn't always easy, but it is meaningful. It takes compassionate individuals and families who are willing to step forward and make room in their hearts and homes for children who need safety, stability, and encouragement.
At Kidz Thrive, we never take that commitment for granted.
To those who attended orientation this week: Thank you. Thank you for your willingness to learn, to serve, and to explore how you can make a difference in the life of a child.
And to our current foster families, kinship caregivers, and supporters: thank you for continuing to answer the call each day.
Together, we are building stronger families, supporting children, and creating brighter futures.
π Please help us welcome our newest families by leaving a word of encouragement in the comments below!

πΏ Wellness Wednesday πΏ
Thriving Starts With Small Steps
When life gets busy, stressed, or overwhelming, sometimes the best thing we can do is step outside.
Fresh air, sunshine, and movement can help both children and adults feel calmer, think more clearly, and reset emotionally. A simple walk can reduce stress, improve mood, and create an opportunity to connect with one another away from screens and distractions.
This is especially important for children. When kids are frustrated, anxious, restless, or struggling with big emotions, a change of scenery and time outdoors can help them regulate and recharge.
At Kidz Thrive, we care about the whole family. We believe thriving means more than meeting basic needsβit means supporting healthy minds, healthy relationships, and healthy habits for both children and caregivers.
This week, we encourage you to take a walk, enjoy God's creation, and spend a few moments reconnecting with those you love.
π¬ Tell us in the comments: Where is your favorite place to enjoy the outdoors with your family?
If you've ever considered making a difference in the life of a child, we'd love to talk with you about becoming part of the Kidz Thrive family.

π June is National Reunification Month π
When most people think about foster care, they think about adoption. But the primary goal of foster care is often family reunification.
Reunification is not easy. It requires hard work, healing, growth, support, and perseverance from everyone involved. It means parents working toward positive change, children navigating difficult transitions, and foster families providing love, stability, and encouragement along the way.
At Kidz Thrive, we recognize that every family's journey is unique. Some children reunify with their families. Others find permanency through relatives, guardianship, or adoption. While each path may look different, our commitment remains the same: supporting children and families through every season of the journey.
This month, we celebrate the families working toward reunification and the foster families who walk alongside them with compassion and grace.

β¨ Thrive Thursday β¨
Every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued, supported, and loved. π
This Foster Care Awareness Month, we are reminded that healing often begins in the small everyday moments:
β¨ Patience during hard days
β¨ Consistency and stability
β¨ Encouragement and compassion
β¨ A safe place to grow and be heard
At Kidz Thrive, we believe children thrive in nurturing environments where they are supported emotionally, mentally, and physicallyβand where caregivers never walk alone.
Scripture gently reminds us:
βDefend the weak and the fatherlessβ¦β β Psalm 82:3
Today, we honor the foster parents, caregivers, advocates, and supporters helping children heal, hope, and thrive every single day. π±

πΏ Wellness Wednesday
Healthy relationships with food often begin at home.
Children learn so much by watching the adults around themβnot only what we eat, but how we talk about food, our bodies, health, comfort, and self-care.
At Kidz Thrive, we believe creating healthy homes includes helping children build positive, balanced relationships with food free from shame, fear, or emotional pressure.
β¨ Sharing meals together
β¨ Encouraging balance instead of guilt
β¨ Teaching moderation
β¨ Creating positive routines
β¨ Modeling healthy habits as caregivers
These small, intentional moments help children develop confidence, security, and lifelong wellness habits.
Healing happens in the everyday moments. π±
