Did you know there may be a way to get a communication device for your child without using insurance and without paying out of pocket?
The STAP (Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program) provides vouchers to eligible Texans to help cover the cost of communication devices and equipment.
As an SLP, I can help guide families through the process, determine if a communication device may be appropriate, and provide the evaluation and documentation needed to support communication needs.
If your child struggles to communicate and you’ve been worried about the cost of AAC, this program may be worth exploring!
📍Texas families only
🗣️ AAC evaluations and support available

I love so many parts about what I do but the best thing is seeing the children you work with grow in their independence and confidence 😍
It still amazes me seeing a child go from no or minimal words or even whispering to confidently communicating their wants and needs!
It never gets old! Let’s keep going SLPs! ⭐️
Part 2 is here 👀 Y’all showed so much love on my “Come use my Gestalt Language Tracker with me” video, so I wanted to come back and give my honest review after actually using it!
In this video I’m sharing what I liked, how I used it with different learners, and why having a place to track scripts/gestalts can make you feel a lot less overwhelmed when you’re trying to connect the dots. 🧩✨
If you’ve ever thought: “Wait…what do I do with all of these scripts my child/client is saying?” — this is exactly why I created it.
You can download the Gestalt Language Tracker Toolkit from my website 💻
Question for you ⬇️
What’s been the hardest part for you when tracking scripts or understanding echolalia?
Sometimes it’s not that a child “isn’t motivated to communicate.” Sometimes communication hasn’t felt meaningful, accessible, or effective for them yet. 💬✨
When we create motivating opportunities, model language consistently, and support communication in ways that make sense to the child, we can start seeing those moments of initiation happen naturally.
Seeing a child realize, “Wait… I can use this to tell people what I want?!” will always be one of my favorite moments.
Share a moment when you’ve seen a it “click” with a child using AAC? ⬇️
Come use my new Gestalt Tracker Toolkit with me 👏🗣️
Today I’m putting it to use with two different learners at different stages. For one learner, I’m using the script tracker + basic form to track gestalts being used and imitated. For another learner who’s further along, I’m using the more detailed form to track whether gestalts are showing up through imitation, spontaneous use, or mitigation.
One of my favorite things about supporting gestalt language processors is seeing patterns start to emerge over time — because those little pieces of data can tell us so much. ✨
Come back for Part 2 because I’ll be sharing my honest review after using it: what I liked, what was helpful, and the practical flow of using it during the session.
