๐ From Students to Industry Leaders
We were honored to welcome representatives from Houston Discount Flooring & Remodel, SOS Construction Services, Your Air Co., and Texas Plumbing Network to speak with our students and share their industry experience. ๐ช
A special highlight of the event was having two WorkTexas alumni on our employer panel:
Steven Reed, Cohort 4 graduate, transformed the skills he gained in our Residential Construction program into his own business, SOS Construction & Remodeling. Today, he returns to mentor students and provide internship opportunities.
Joel Guerrero, a plumber apprentice with Texas Plumbing Network, shared his journey from student to professional in the trades.
From student to skilled professional, business owner, and mentor โ this is what workforce development looks like. Thank you to all our panelists for investing in the next generation of trades professionals.

We love when our mission comes to life like this. ๐ This week, we were grateful to host KES (Koch Engineered Solutions) for an employer panel with students exploring careers in pipefitting, electrical, HVAC, and welding. Real conversations about drug testing, transportation, interview prep, and what it takes to grow in the skilled trades โ straight from the people doing the hiring. This is exactly why we do what we do. Thank you, KES Field Services, for investing your time in the next generation of craft professionals.
