⛳️ Best of luck to HCS graduate Tyler Watts as he competes in the final stage of qualifying for the 126th U.S. Open Championship!

As part of Golf’s Longest Day, Tyler is among golfers across the country competing in 36-hole qualifying events for one of the final spots in the U.S. Open, which will be held June 18–21, 2026, at Shinnecock Hills.

Tyler, a recent graduate of Artemis Virtual Academy, is competing at Lakes Golf & Country Club in Westerville, Ohio in a field of 51 golfers. The field includes current PGA Tour players and 2009 U.S. Open Champion Lucas Glover who are vying for just four qualifying spots.

A member of the U.S. National Junior Team, Tyler has established himself as one of the nation’s top young golfers and has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Tennessee.

HCS is proud to see Tyler representing Huntsville on one of golf’s biggest stages, and we wish him the best as he pursues his U.S. Open dream!

Fifth grader, CJ Greer, celebrated his last day of school in style. Grades 3-6 enjoyed a day of enrichment before the summer break.

Seventh grader, McKenzie Baker, won two gold medals and a silver medal at the Robert Unger Ice Skating Competition in Knoxville last weekend.

“ This would not be possible without the help and support from the staff at Artemis,” mother, Haley Baker said.
