Karma is a student independently using their coping skills. ✨

The rest of the world: “That’s not a big deal.”

Special Education Teachers: 🎉🎉🎉

Behavior is communication 💜

My passion is helping teams, educators, and families look beyond the behavior to understand the message underneath. From de-escalation strategies and data digs to developing meaningful behavior plans, I believe every child deserves support that is compassionate, individualized, and rooted in understanding.

Because challenging behavior isn’t about “fixing” kids, it’s about discovering environments, supports and strategies they need to be successful.

What behavior truth has changed your perspective as an educator? 👇🏼

✨ Connection before correction. ✨

When we acknowledge a student’s feelings first, we create trust—and trust opens the door to growth. Supporting students doesn’t mean lowering expectations; it means providing the connection, guidance, and encouragement they need to meet them. 💜

In education, the most effective behavioral support often starts with understanding, empathy, and strong relationships. Every interaction is an opportunity to say, “I see you, I support you, and I believe in your potential.”

Special educators wear many hats—not just supporting students, but coaching, collaborating with, and encouraging staff every single day. From problem-solving and adapting instruction to being a constant source of support, they help entire school communities thrive.

As another school year comes to a close, it’s time for special educators to recharge, reflect, and reset. A well-deserved summer break isn’t a luxury—it’s essential. ☀️📚

Here’s to rest, renewal, and coming back refreshed for another year of making a difference.

The work you do matters more than you may ever know.

Your patience becomes confidence.
Your encouragement becomes resilience.
Your belief becomes self-belief.

Long after goals are met, classrooms are left behind, and students grow up, they will remember the people who saw their potential before they saw it themselves.

Thank you for being the safe place, the advocate, the cheerleader, and the difference-maker 💜
