This Saturday! Mutual aid fundraiser for Cuba 🇨🇺

Join us for a screening of the documentary Pastors for Peace: People to People, followed by a panel from Dr. Alexander Scott & Dr. Edgar Rivera Colon to learn about their scholarly and faith perspectives on the current blockade. We’ll be speaking about Christian solidarity, breaking the embargo, and the Cuban medical mission.

⭐️Entrance to the event is sliding scale $5-$20 but no one is denied entry due to the lack of funds. EVERY DOLLAR RAISED WILL GO TO MUTUAL AID FOR CUBA.

“Our Lady of Guadalupe” fabric portrait. If you are, unable to attend you can still enter the raffle by sending a donation.

Mr. Miguel immigrated to the United States as an adult taking on various odd jobs, such as bussing tables and washing dishes in restaurants, to support himself while pursuing higher education. Despite these challenges, he worked hard and earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. After years of working in the field, he decided to become a math teacher, driven by a desire to give back to his community. He successfully completed two years as an Algebra I and Geometry teacher at Roybal Learning Center, an inner-city school in Los Angeles, where he made an everlasting impact on anyone who came to know him. Tragically, due to a sudden and unexpected medical complication, he passed away during his third year of teaching. Mr. Miguel was well known for being a kind and compassionate teacher who always shared a smile with anyone he’d see.
