What makes a portrait memorable?

It's nothing technical.
It's the person behind the camera and the person in front of it. A collaboration between the two. An image they make together.

Here are a few portraits that recently surfaced from past summers.

Wait... how many kids are actually in this photo?

This composite portrait is made from multiple photographs stitched together into a single image. The kids orchestrated the entire thing and collectively chose poses that work together.

Every camper appears three times.

The project combines photography, editing and teamwork—and the results are always a little surprising.

One of the best things about photography is that it encourages kids to slow down and explore.

Winnie stopped to investigate a few details that caught her attention. Then she dialed it in, making 5 or 6 images until it was just right.
