We’ve launched our 2026-2027 Back-to-School page, your one-stop shop for everything you need to get ready for the first day of school. From school supply lists and bus information to calendars and meal info, we've got you covered. Check back throughout the summer for important updates.

Future Mavericks, if your child will be new to McGowen in the 26-27 school year, please use the link below to enroll. Our allocations for teachers and classes are determined in the summer based on our enrollment. All kindergartners are considered new students even if siblings are returning students. Returning student information will be emailed in July. If you wait to enroll your new student and don’t submit all of your enrollment forms, there is a chance your student would need to be overflowed to another campus. Thank you for passing on this information to neighbors and friends who live in our McGowen Zone. Students who are current MISD students but transferring due to rezoning are comsidered returning students and you don’t need to do anything now The window is only open for our new to MISD students. We are excited to meet our new Mavericks in August. I’ll send a summer newsletter mid-July with Back to School information. Enjoy your summer!
