โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š Happy Juneteenth โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š

Today, we honor the resilience, strength, and enduring legacy of those whose courage helped shape our nation's journey toward freedom.
Juneteenth is more than a historical milestoneโ€”it is a reminder that freedom, equity, and opportunity require continued commitment, advocacy, and action.

Juneteenth reminds us that progress is not just something we celebrate. It is something we continue to pursue. As an educator, advocate, and community partner, I am grateful for those who paved the way and inspired us to keep moving forward. Today we honor freedom, reflect on our collective journey, and recommit ourselves to creating pathways to success for every child, every family, and every community we serve.

Today we honor the brave individuals whose sacrifice made our freedoms possible. As we gather with family and loved ones, may we also take time to reflect, remember, and express gratitude for those who gave everything in service to our nation. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿซก

Special Needs Dads where yall at?
Lets Talk

Boys are told to push through. Men are told not to ask. And then we wonder why our kids with big needs aren't getting what they need. We need dads in the conversation. We need schools where stim breaks are a strategy, not a stigma. We need the village back and it starts with all of us showing up.

More men at the table. More grace in the classroom. More village, less silence.

April is recognized as Autism Awareness Month. Letโ€™s be clear, awareness alone is not enough.

Awareness acknowledges.

Advocacy changes outcomes.

Action creates access.

Every child deserves more than a seat in the classroom, they deserve meaningful inclusion, appropriate supports, and systems that are responsive to their needs.

At Alston Advocacy & Consulting, this work is about more than compliance. Itโ€™s about ensuring families are informed, empowered, and positioned to make decisions that truly support their childโ€™s growth and success.

This month, I challenge you to move with intention:

โœ”๏ธ Ask the right questions
โœ”๏ธ Understand your childโ€™s rights
โœ”๏ธ Advocate with clarity and confidence

Because when we shift barriers, we create pathways.
