Increasing peace and reducing animal products when perfection isn’t an option.

Learning something new feels awkward, so of COURSE you want to wait. But the hidden cost of waiting is that you don’t get ANY practice. You don’t develop ANY of the skills.

When I first moved in a vegan direction, I had loads of exceptions and excuses. But I was not simply waiting. I was practicing.

Even just a little practice builds the skills, experience, and evidence that waiting never can.

This week on Vedge Your Best: the hidden cost of waiting — and why imperfect practice counts.

What is one thing you can move out of the Waiting Room? Let us cheer you on!

Ever notice how some people hear about a positive change and immediately respond with, "Must be nice..."?

That reaction usually isn't about the change itself.

It's often about the story they're carrying about themselves.

This week's episode explores why growth can feel uncomfortable to witness, what shame has to do with it, and why compassion, not judgment, is the better response.

Plus, a message for anyone who's fallen off track with their plant-based goals:

Coming back counts.

In fact, coming back IS the practice. 💚

🎉 EPISODE 300 CHALLENGE: DAY 3 🎉

Three hundred episodes have taught us that lasting change doesn't come from giant leaps, it comes from small practices repeated over time.

💭 What is one tiny thing I want to practice on purpose this week?

Maybe it's trying one new plant-based recipe, adding an extra serving of vegetables to your day, preparing tomorrow's lunch tonight, drinking more water, or taking a few minutes to reconnect with your "why."

Small practices create lasting change, both in life and on your vegan journey.

👇 Tell us your tiny practice for the week and let's encourage one another.

Thank you for being part of our journey to 300 episodes and beyond! ❤️

🎉 EPISODE 300 CHALLENGE: DAY 2 🎉

💭 What have I been practicing not practicing?

Sometimes growth isn't about adding something new, it's about letting go. Maybe you've been practicing not being hard on yourself when things aren't perfect, not comparing your journey to someone else's, not falling into all-or-nothing thinking, or not letting one off-plan choice define your progress

Building a sustainable vegan lifestyle is often about releasing habits and beliefs that no longer serve us.

🎉 EPISODE 300 CHALLENGE: DAY 1 🎉

Three hundred episodes. Hundreds of conversations. Countless opportunities to grow, learn, and practice becoming our best selves.

To celebrate Episode 300 of The Vedge Your Best Podcast, we're inviting you to join our Episode 300 Challenge this week.

💭 Challenge Question #1:

What have I been practicing that I’m not giving myself credit for?

Growth often happens so gradually that we miss it. Maybe you've been practicing meal planning, cooking more plant-based meals at home, reading labels more carefully, navigating social situations with confidence, or simply making more compassionate choices each day.

Take a moment to recognize your progress. Every step on your vegan journey counts.

👇 Share your answer in the comments. We’d love to celebrate your wins with you.

What if consistency isn’t what you think it is? For a L O N G time, I thought consistency meant doing something perfectly, the same way, with the same energy, forever.

No wonder so many of us think we’re bad at it. But after 300 consecutive weekly episodes of Vedge Your Best, I see it differently. Consistency isn’t sameness. Or perfection.

It’s just coming back.

If you’ve ever told yourself: “I’m just not consistent.” “I always start and stop.” “I’m not the kind of person who can stick with vegan or plant-based change.”

Maybe that isn’t the whole truth. Maybe you just haven’t practiced coming back yet.

Episode 300 is proof that a person with a self-image of being “consistently inconsistent” can still build a practice.

Thank you for listening, subscribing, sharing and engaging. And most of all thanks to all of you who Vedge YOUR Best.

So many of us keep waiting for the big breakthrough.

The perfect Monday.
The perfect plan.
The dramatic transformation.

But most real change happens quietly.

One walk.
One meal.
One conversation.
One choice to begin again.

“The small step is the transformation.” 💚

What if something you’ve always thought was “just you” … isn’t?

This week on Vedge Your Best, Annette and Graham Henry, , talk about how breathing patterns may affect anxiety, sleep, stress, focus, and overall well-being.

So many of us move through life assuming:
🌿 “I’m just anxious.”
🌙 “I don’t sleep well.”
📱 “I’m always overwhelmed.”

But sometimes awareness starts with noticing something incredibly basic:

How we breathe. 🌬️

Email apnea?

It’s the mostly unconscious habit of holding your breath when you open your inbox, check your phone, or read the news.

Today on Vedge Your Best, Annette and Graham Henry, the Vegan Breathing Coaches, explain how all those tiny breath-holds can keep the body in a state of alert. This episode is about breathing, yes. But it’s also about noticing patterns we don’t realize are shaping our days.
