We truly appreciate your team’s efforts from the thorough pre-walk briefing to the informative and engaging site tour. Experiences like this are invaluable in helping our students connect classroom knowledge to real-world construction practices.

It was also incredible to see so many FIU alumni on site, continuing to build and lead within the industry. Your presence makes the experience even more meaningful and inspiring for our current students.

FIU was proud to join industry leaders at the 5th Annual Technology Conference, hosted in collaboration with ABC Florida East Coast. The event brought together professionals from across the construction industry to explore emerging technologies and innovations shaping the future of construction.

We were very proud to see one of our own professors, Dr. Mahya Sam, share her expertise as a panelist in the session “Robotics for Contractors.” FIU students were also part of this event, participating as exhibitors and showcasing projects from the Applied Research Center, highlighting the innovative work being done by students.

We are grateful to ABC Florida East Coast for their continued partnership! Thank you to all the speakers, exhibitors, and attendees who helped make this year’s conference a success.

For Women in Construction Week, we are spotlighting one of our own hardworking women: Cristina Pascal

Cristina Pascal is a construction management student at the Florida International University’s Moss School of Construction, where she is gaining hands-on experience and building industry connections that prepare her for a career in the construction industry.

She served as a summer camp counselor for the Moss School’s She Builds Construction Summer Camp, helping introduce young women to career opportunities in construction.

Cristina is also a founding member of the NAWIC FIU Student Chapter, part of the National Association of Women in Construction, where she helps build community and support women pursuing careers in the built environment.

Cristina represents the drive, leadership and dedication we see from so many of the women in our program. We are proud to have so many women making their mark at the Moss School of Construction and shaping the future of the industry.
