Elise is on-site this week for Online Access, Inc. Vendor Summit.
During her presentation she led a quick exercise for everyone to learn where their DISC communication style might be.
Ever wonder why you connect so easily with some and with others it is a slower build?
It may be that you’re the same style, or could be that you value the same things or work/speak at the same pace as someone.
You can determine your DISC style (or the style of others) in just TWO questions??
Here they are:
1️⃣ Are you more fast paced and outspoken OR more cautious and reflective?
2️⃣ A new task comes to you—Are you more questioning and skeptical OR more welcoming and accepting?
Based on your answers here’s what the style might be:
➡️ D styles are fast paced, outspoken and also questioning and skeptical (Dominant, drivers)
➡️ I styles are are fast paced, outspoken and welcoming and accepting (Influencing, People person)
➡️ S styles are more cautious and reflective and questioning and skeptical (Steady, supportive peeps)
➡️ C styles are more cautious and reflective and questioning and skeptical (Compliant, highly accurate individuals)

How do I know if an employee is ready for leadership development?
That was a question posed by a leader I’m working with.
Here’s how I answered that question 👇🏻
They may be ready if they:
• Take initiative without being asked
• Positively influence the people around them
• Consistently demonstrate accountability
• Show a desire to learn and grow
• Express interest in greater responsibility
They may not be ready if they:
• Struggle to take ownership of their work
• Resist feedback or coaching
• Focus only on individual performance
• Avoid communication or conflict
• Show little interest in personal growth
