The time for silence is long past. It is time for all mayoral candidates, city council incumbents & candidates to come forward and hold Mayor De Blasio & the UFT accountable for keeping our children out of school 20/21 academic year and holding them hostage to union politics.

Parents must be informed about plans for the rest of the academic year, the summer and September so we can prepare accordingly.

Responds to Mayor’s Decision to Reopen High School Buildings in March, Resume Sports in April

“We are thrilled to hear that New York City public high school student athletes will be able to resume playing in April,” said Daniela Jampel, spokesperson. “However, we are disappointed that Mayor Bill de Blasio chose to only reopen high school buildings and allow a small fraction of students return to in-person ‘hybrid’ learning one or two times a week. We will continue to advocate for the more than 80 percent of high school students who remain trapped in full-time remote instruction, indefinitely.”

Saturday March 13 will mark a year since NYC public schools closed.

While many private and parochial schools reopened by fall, NYC public schools have remained more closed than open, repeatedly shutting down for the "2 Case Rule," spacing kids an excessive 8 ft apart in classrooms thereby severely reducing days kids can attend in-person, using monitors and plugging kids into devices in middle schools, and transforming high schools into vaccination sites. The UFT - United Federation of Teachers has repeatedly stood in the way of school reopening, and refused to tie teacher vaccination to a mandated return to teaching in the classroom.

We know this can be done safely and immediately impact children who are suffering in remote and restore families who need to get back to work and normalcy.
