ALIEN EATING 👽
It is time to turn yourself into an alien. Pretend you have landed on this Earth for the first time, unsure of what anything around you is.
Pick up your piece of food. Inspect it with your alien eyes. Notice the fine details of it – the shape, the colour, the textures. Begin to notice how your body and mind are responding when paying attention to this food. Is your mouth salivating? Is your stomach rumbling? Do you feel like eating this food? Are you hungry? What is the reason you are eating?
Try to think of a way to describe your food without using its name. As your alien self, try to think of a new name that suits this food.
Smell it. What does it smell like? What does it feel like between your fingers?
As you eat your food, notice how the food tastes and feels in your mouth. Is it chewy? Soft? What are the flavours? Sweet? Salty? Really focus in to the details of your alien body and how it is responding to this unknown, brand new food.
Explain your snack to a friend without using the correct name of it. See whether they can work out what you ate.
When you have finished, have a conversation about the alien eating experience. What differences do you notice when eating mindfully?

Let’s begin by taking a couple of breaths at your own pace. (2)
On your next breath, visualise a magic wand along the length of your spine. (1)
The wand begins at the very base of your backbone, down at your bottom, and extends all the way up to the crown of your head. (1)
As you breath in and out, picture light travelling up and down your wand. (1)
Your breath is igniting your wand with an iridescent beam of light. (1) What colour is the light? (1)
What are the details of your wand? (2)
As you breathe into your wand, begin to think about something you want to wish for today. (1)
Do you have a wish for your magic wand? (1)
It may be a wish you have made to your wand before, or a new wish you have today. (2)
Whatever your wish, send it along the length of your wishing wand. (1)
Visualise the magical light erupting and spreading all over your body. Filling every gap and space with power for your wish. (1)
Envisage the vibrations of light and magic bubbling in your body, like a mystical potion of hope and happiness. (1)
How does this make you feel? (1)
Continue to breathe deep into your body. Up and down the length of your wand. (3)
Know that your wish may not come true straight away. (1) Also know that you can visit your wishing wand anytime you like. (1)
When you are ready, begin to notice your hands and your feet. (1)
Bring your attention back into the room and open your eyes just a little bit. Focus on something just in front of you and give one final thought to your wish. (1)
When you are ready, open your eyes fully and stretch out in whatever way feels good for you at this time.
