Still processing that you’re gone… The way you made me and everyone you encountered feel special. The gift was more than your singing voice, it was your words, laughter, affection, and boldness. You were the definition of lighting up a room. You lived a Godly life, led with love and called things as they were. Nonsense had to find somewhere else to be when you were involved. Rest Peacefully 🕊️ 🙏🏾

I remember just like it was yesterday…the day of this photo shoot. An individual who I sought approval from for years, poked my stomach and told me I looked FAT after I’d gotten dressed. One of the other dancers forgot her top so I gave her mine, took a piece of fabric and wrapped it around myself to make a “red shirt” in order for us all to look good. Instead of feeling proud of my impromptu creativity, I felt insecure once again because of something this person said. Fast forward to today’s message from Minister Hall Voices of Praise NTCOG. She preached “Who’s approval do you seek?” It reminded me that as soon as I stopped seeking approval from that person and only looked to God, people who I’d bent over backwards for and wanted to support whole heartedly betrayed me. I pray for them because I realize they’re also searching for approval in the wrong place. I wish I could save them. I’ve definitely learned to just trust God in every season. He has never failed. God’s approval is the only stamp I need!
