🚨 Students: If a job posting sounds too good to be true… it probably is.
Beware of fake recruiters, “easy money” offers, sketchy interview links, and jobs asking for personal info upfront. 👀
Here are some red flags to watch for:
❌ “No experience, earn $5k/week”
❌ Recruiters contacting only through WhatsApp/Telegram
❌ Asking for payment, gift cards, or bank info
Before applying:
✔️ Research the company
✔️ Check LinkedIn + official websites
✔️ Verify recruiter emails
✔️ Confirm with student help desk or Career Center

Hunter students are SO COOL 😤
On April 25th-26th, held their 2nd annual hackathon open to CUNY students, and this year’s theme was centered around the uniqueness of each NYC borough and the problems they face.
Two winners stole the show for our sponsored category, “Career Readiness in Midtown Manhattan”:
Aashir Ali (sophomore) & Mohammed Nihad (junior)🎉
🧠 Their project was “Spendly”, a finance app that predicts your spending habits before swiping your card. By analyzing your transactions and buying patterns, it sends reminders to help you avoid impulsive purchases and stay on track with savings goals! 👌💯
Congrats Aashir & Mohammed!!! 🥳🎊
