Last week, New York Edge held its annual Spring Arts Showcase at NYU’s Skirball Theatre. This event celebrated the talent and creativity of students across our art programs. 🎶💃

Before the show, partners, donors and supporters gathered for a special reception hosted by:

Hip-hop pioneer and Video Music Box founder, Ralph McDaniels

Singer-songwriter and humanitarian, Grizel Del Valle

Artist and community advocate, Eli Lazare Salomé-Díaz

and New York Edge Board Member, Monica Chaves.

The reception featured an engaging student panel discussion moderated by Grizel Del Valle.

It was the perfect way to kickoff our Showcase and celebrated the transformative role of arts programs in student’s lives. 💫

Another year, another amazing New York Edge Spring Arts Showcase 💥

Through dance, music, film and more, every performance carried a message and every student brought something special on stage. It was a showcase of storytelling that celebrated culture, explored identity, and praised creativity.

Songwriters Circle X Verses & Vibes! 🎤🎶

🎵 Students from 189X, 309K, 370X, 175X, 109Q, 382K, MS122Q, 484K performed on stage at the beautiful Kaufman Music Center for our second annual Songwriters Circle x Verses & Vibes Contest LIVE!

🎵 Students prepared all year, crafting original songs and spoken word pieces around the theme: “The Art of Everyday: Finding Art All Around Us.”

🎵 The event was MC’d by the incredibly talented Latasha Morgan, Deputy Director Community Schools, who kept the energy and good vibes flowing!
