The wealth of a nation is not determined by the riches God endowed it with but by how free its people are to pursue their dreams.

Going to be sharing on my X account an immigration-related chart per day. Here I share with you the last four days of posts including today.

1) Incarceration rates of non-elderly adult men in the U.S. by native-born ethnicity and foreign-born region of birth. Native Americans and native-born Blacks have, by far, the highest incarceration rate. Mexican and Central Americans have a higher incarceration rate than native-born Whites but South American immigrants have a lower incarceration rate than both European immigrants and native-born Whites. East and South Asian immigrants have the lowest incarceration rate of all groups.

2) Total fertility rate for native-born women by ethnicity and foreign-born women by region of birth. Only African, Middle Eastern, Central American and Central Asian (think Uzbekistan) women have an above-replacement fertility rate. Over the last 20 years fertility declined for almost all groups except African and Central Asian mothers and fertility declined the most for Mexican, Western European, and native-born Black women.

3) The Census division of destination for immigrants who arrived in the last year. The South has become the mosf popular region as fewer immigrants head to fhe West Coast. Northeast and Midwest excluded since they are stable.

4) The subregion of origin of Latin American immigrants. Mexicans used to represent over 63% of new Latin American immigrants at the start of the century, now they are barely 25%.
