I wrote these words back in May, but I stumbled across them this morning while doing some work and realized I needed to hear them again. So I’m sharing them here just in case you need them too.

You are enough exactly as you are and I am so grateful you are exactly who you are.

Yes. Yes it is✨ And I don’t think I’ve ever seen truer words.

Creativity is vulnerable. Creativity is brave. Creativity makes our world a better place. And creativity is magical, breathtaking fuel for change.

Here’s to all the humans doing brave, creative work — in your home, with your family, in how you craft and live your life, in how you cultivate joy, create your relationships, in the work you put into the world. You make the world a better place.

Keep creating, friends. You are fuel for beautiful change💛

I spent the weekend immersed in the forest surrounded by my favorite thing...trees. Pine trees, Oak trees, Redwoods, and Sequoia’s. They were everywhere and they were as breathtaking as ever.

My favorite thing about trees is their reminder that there is no replacement for time. No matter how hard a tree tries, it will not grow strong roots, a sturdy trunk, and branches covered in luscious leaves overnight...that is a process that takes years and years.

We often want things in our life to happen immediately. But when we look to the trees, we are reminded that time and consistency is the only way. When we show up and soak up our sunshine every single day, little by little, we build a strong foundation and grow into a breathtaking tree that only we are capable of becoming.

As you navigate this remarkable journey that is uniquely yours, remind yourself that you are always growing. Give yourself credit for how far you have come, celebrate where you are, and continue to give yourself your version of sunshine every single day. Remember that there is beauty where you are right now, and there is so much more to come...growth simply takes time.

— Nature teaches us the most wonderful lessons. Let me know your favorite thing something in nature has taught you.

I have been mostly silent on social media for awhile and I’ve been putting a lot of pressure on myself to find the “perfect” way to return, but I can’t find it…because the “perfect” anything doesn’t exist. Sometimes [always] we just have to leap. So today I want say hi 👋 tell you that I think you’re magical, and share a few things I have been thinking about recently.

1. Our experiences shape, change, and guide us into who we are becoming next. It’s beautiful, but also wildly terrifying when it’s happening so fast we can hardly keep up. The last 18 months have fundamentally changed me in ways I can feel, but that I don’t rationally understand yet. That’s okay. The messy middle is where we discover, meet, and understand who this new version of us is.

2. The mental health journey is HARD. Facing your mental health struggles, learning to understand them, and finding a way to live with and accept them is a struggle that does not get enough credit. If you are fighting that battle, I see you and I am right there with you. Keep fighting, you are worth it.

3. Slowness and rest are two of the most powerful and transformative forces we have. We need more of them.

4. It’s not about having the whole picture figured out, it’s about learning to trust yourself so fully and so deeply, that you can feel in your bones what step to take next...next...and next.

5. When doing something new that feels scary and uncomfortable to every inch of you, the only thing that matters is showing up courageously over and over again. It will get easier and you will find your footing. Be good to yourself and keep showing up.

6. A long walk without your phone is nourishment for the soul [and great for hard mental health days].

7. I become more convinced every day — a has actual magical powers.

Tell me your thoughts on being a human right now, what’s on your heart, or just anything at all.

PS - Keep being good to yourself💛

It is always okay not to know.

The really amazing thing is that when you let yourself live in the ‘I don’t know,’ you open yourself up to the discovery, wonder, and possibility of what could be…

and this is where the magic lies.

I know that the unknown is scary. Really scary. But you know what? You are strong enough to find your way through. And if you look back over your life, you will find endless evidence of moments where you discovered, learned, or figured out something that you didn’t know before.

Trust yourself that you can do it again...because you can.

There is magic in the space of ‘I don’t know’ and it is always, always okay not to know.

The pace in which you move through your life is yours to choose. Always. And the pace you choose for yourself is perfect.

Something that took me many, many years to learn is that I really love to move through life slowly. I naturally do things at a slower pace and I thrive when I allow myself to lean into and live that truth.

Even though I know this about myself, I still fight waves of guilt and have moments when I feel bad about myself because I feel like I’m not moving fast enough. I have moments when I let other people’s choices and the world’s opinions dictate how I feel about my own...even when I know that it is what’s best for me.

This feels magnified right now as we navigate the return to life post pandemic. There are a lot of opinions about what we should do, how we should do it, and at what speed we should do it.

If you are feeling this too (or if you ever feel a pressure to do or act in a way that isn’t right for you), I hope you can remember that the things you know about yourself and the choices you make are valid and they matter. They can be trusted because they came from you.

What’s right for someone else might not be right for you. What you need from moment to moment might differ. Never forget that you are allowed to do things differently. You are allowed to try something, decide it’s not right, and then do something else. You are allowed to listen to what you need, trust what you discover, and then give that to yourself.

Because no one knows you and your life better than you do.

Your life. Your choice. Your pace. Always.

Words for your heart about building trust…with yourself💛

The trust you build with yourself is sacred, beautiful, and is just as important as the trust you build with those around you.

Every single time someone makes a commitment to you and shows up, your trust in them strengthens. The reverse is also true, if someone promises you that they will show up every Friday at 4PM, but they’ve missed three weeks in a row, your trust and faith in them weakens.

We need trust. Trust is the foundation for connection, taking a leap of faith, stepping outside of comfort zones, and so much more. Trust is what makes beautiful change/transformation/impact in our lives and in our world possible.

But what about trust within ourselves?

When we make a commitment to someone or something outside of ourselves, we are likely to show up, because there is a real consequence if we don’t. On the flip side of that, there is no perceived consequence if we don’t show up for ourselves. We are the only one that will know if we skip the thing we told ourselves we’d do, so it’s no big deal if we just don’t do it, right?

But what if we viewed the trust that we have with ourselves as just as valuable as the trust we have with the people we love most in the world. And what if we realized that every single time we make a commitment to ourselves and show up to it, the trust we have with ourselves strengthens.

The stronger your trust is with yourself, the more you believe in your ability to do or handle anything, because you have proven to yourself time and time again that you will show up and figure it out.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to know where you are going or what you’re doing. But by showing up when you tell yourself you will and building the trust you have with yourself, it is inevitable that you will find your way to the strength/clarity/dream you are seeking.

You are just as important as everyone around you. Don’t forget to honor and love yourself too.

It’s the little things. Like knowing that your life is a creation and you get to bring your heart to all of it. Like learning to listen to the deep and undeniable knowing inside of you. Like learning to trust yourself in the deepest of ways. And ultimately, knowing that the little things are the big things…and those things will change your life in remarkable ways.

👇What questions or thoughts do we have around self trust? It’s a big one and it’s not talked about nearly enough.

Words for your heart to help find those magical moments in the everyday💛

What kind of magic exists around you today?

Is the sun streaming through the window in a particularly beautiful way?

Are the leaves dancing in the wind?

Is there a child playing outside whose laughter stops time?

Do the covers in your bed make it feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud?

Does a song come on that sends goosebumps down your spine?

Can you feel your heartbeat under your palm?

Everyday will not be easy. Everyday may not even be beautiful. But, if you pause to notice, there will always be a little bit of magic in everyday.

No matter what this day brings, I hope you find your magic today.

I’d love to know - what is a magical thing in your life that always makes you smile?

Your soul has a vision for your life. Dare to listen and follow it.

This life is yours. Create it in the way
[y o u] want.

It is so easy to forget that we are the experts on ourselves and our lives. More often than not, anytime we need to make a decision or figure out what something should look like, we look outside of ourselves.

We assume someone else knows better than we do.

But what I have learned to be true is that we have the wisdom inside of us. And when we learn to access and listen to that wisdom, we learn how to create an intentional life that we don’t want to escape from and that we actually want to live.

Today I empower you trust yourself. I empower you to let your imagination run free as your wild heart guides you to the top of every peak and bottom of every valley…every moment creating the landscape of your wildest dreams.

This is me. I want to re-introduce myself because I want to show up in this space as truthfully as I can, but that truth is so different from what so many of you know me as.

Most of you know me from my days as a professional dancer. For a long time I posted about my journey navigating the musical theatre audition world because that was my truth. But over the last few years so much has changed. I have changed, my vision for my life has changed, and the focus of my work has changed.

Identity is an interesting thing. In the world of social media and branding we are taught to clearly define ourselves within a few very well-crafted words. But humans are so much more expansive than that. We are constantly learning, growing, evolving, becoming. We are multi-faceted, multi-passionate. There will never be enough words to perfectly encapsulate all that we are.

I believe that’s why I struggle in this space. There is so much in me. And who I am is constantly shifting. I will never be able to perfectly fit inside these boxes. Nor do I want to. I want to spend my life defining the shapes of my life for myself.

My hope is to make this space as truthful and beautiful as possible. I will not show up perfectly, because I am not perfect. But I will bring my heart and as much love as I can.

Because this is a (re) introduction, here are some things to know about me and to expect to see me talking about. I am a writer who writes words for your heart. I am a certified coach who listens deeply and goes on the journey of doing the heart work with you. I am a teacher who holds spaces for you to be exactly who you are. But above all, I am a human who is growing, changing, evolving, learning, and doing her best to live a beautiful life every step of the way.

Some fun things about me...I have a cat named Opal who is me in cat form, I am a Hufflepuff, I believe freshly baked chocolate chip cookies can make any day better, and I have a newfound love for the moon.

I am so grateful you’re here. Our screens & our time are sacred, I do not take lightly that you share yours with me.

Now, I would love to know something about you! Tell me a fun fact below about the wonderful human you are💛

07/09/2021

Life is so precious. The last year taught me that truth very intimately. And every single day I grow more grateful that I get to walk through all of it with this man.

My greatest wish is that you are always surrounded by overflowing rivers of love.

When the days are hard and you don’t know which way to go, I hope you feel loved.

When you are bursting with joy, I hope you feel loved.

Through it all, I hope you feel loved.

May we try an experiment together? Let’s all tell someone we love just how much they mean to us. Maybe it’s a partner, maybe it’s a friend, maybe it’s someone in your family. But simply tell them why they mean to you. Love, when shared, ripples and spreads. And I can think of nothing better to flood the world with.

And just in case you need it. I am sending you a great big hug and so much love. We may or may not know each other personally, but I am unbelievably grateful for you and the human that you are💛
