The JBOLC Garden Community Farmers Market is reopening, and this year we’re celebrating Juneteenth with a day dedicated to community, culture, and connection!
Join us on Friday, June 20, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center Plaza for fresh local produce, neighborhood vendors, family-friendly activities, and live performances, including music by the MORE Opera Community Chorus!

Today’s featured composer is Harry T. Burleigh, a pioneering composer, arranger, and baritone who became the first African American composer to gain national recognition for both his original art songs and arrangements of spirituals. His work helped bring African American musical traditions into the classical concert repertoire and influenced generations of musicians.
