Unprecedented and conscientiously is words that don’t come close to describing who this young woman is! Nanda Raghunath is a Guyanese, 23 year old with an agenda to overcome it all. Currently she is majoring in biology to become a Physician and minoring in communicational studies, hoping to save and change many lives. Communicational Studies gives her a chance to voice her opinion along with the communities’ opinions to people who can help make changes. She chose this minor along with this major to have a platform where she can help people better their communities, be heard and prevail. Being on this platform she feels she would be able to reach out to so many people and spread awareness.
When Nanda’s not at school learning about the human body and functions, this beauty is getting greased up! Yes greased up! Taking a liking to her father’s profession she currently works at Pepboys! Yes this young lady is not scared to get down and dirty with car parts! You would be surprised to know what she can do. From her oil changes to swapping brakes, installing tires, she can do it all!
But that’s not all a lesson she learned from her parents is the only way to enjoy every moment of life is not only to continue and work to achieve her career goals, but to also to continuing to do things she enjoys. Nanda has a passion for dancing, competing in pageants and rip down walls with renovations as well. With her Parents support she ran a dance school that was open to everyone in the community to come and learn filmy and Bollywood dances. Nanda has also competed and held many titles in pageantry such as, Miss Indo -Caribbean Universe, Miss Queens for Miss Northern USA, Miss Tropical Paradise Passion, Mac Pageant State Finalist, and 1st Runner Up in American Nations Pageant. Not only does she have accomplishments in pageantry but also many awards in dancing.
During the times she was holding these titles she volunteered at many places. She did many dances with her dance class at churches, shows, pageants and fundraising events. Nanda also volunteered at her elementary school with the help of her 1st grade teacher Mrs. Serreo and stayed during lunch and after school to help the kids do their homework, and talk about ways to act against bullying. She also donated many hours, toys and treats to her local animal shelter that she also ended up adopting her puppy Sky from.
This Queen doesn’t stop there! If there’s a space she doesn’t like, you can believe it she will change it! Yes this beauty has renovated her entire basement and upstairs with help to her liking. Not leaving out that her basement is now her closet and hangout area and her garage was designed and made by her to be a dance studio!
With her parents, siblings, family and friends support her accomplishments has not stopped there! She will continue to fight and try to make communities better with the help of others, so in the future we can eliminate many problems we currently face. Stopping bullying, abuse, spread diversity, spread cultures, raising awareness with everyone being informed, we will hopefully better our community. A young lady who has been doubted and has proven all her doubters wrong, will continue to follow her dream filled with high expectations, ambition and honor to add on to her accomplishments.

Novembers Student of the month !! Even though she has been to school all day she still stays up to practice and prepare for shows and always puts her best foot forward !

Starting Diwali at starlight pavilion, Diwali mela ! Happy Diwali to everyone .

We were happy to be apart of this event and join a lot of people who are recognized for there hard work in the community.

Amazing day at the Vault cafe with the amazing contestants, Mariel King, Marcia Dean, Hyram Josiah, the Carribean Dance girls and a group of very smart, successful, self empowered woman. Congratulations to all the Miss Tropical Paradise Pageant Contestants and great job to the Caribbean dance girls

Hey guys, I hope all of you are enjoying this beautiful weather May is brining in for us ! Don't forget this month we have some great shows you won't want to miss !

To start May off right we are celebrating mothers day all day Sunday at Naresa Palace on May 12 at 1pm. Remember guys if moms nit happy no one is !

Next we have Renu's painted fashion show, something we have never seen here in Queens on May 18 at Underground! So break out your dancing shoes !

Followed by a wonderful culture show that been around for years the Indo-caribbean federation day celebration where one of M & N Dance Academy's very own instructors will be competing in on May 19 at 1pm.

Last but not least we are ending the month celebrating Guyana's independents day on May 26 at Fairfield pravilion, 4 pm !!
