In this dynamic online course, you’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of Ancient Greek, including noun, adjective, and participle declensions, verb forms, and basic syntax.

Fall of the Roman Republic, June 29 - July 10, 2026
The Roman Republic collapsed amid ambition, violence, and competing visions of power. Join Calder Classics to analyze one of the most pivotal moments in ancient history as seen through the eyes of the key players: Sulla, Crassus, Pompey, Caesar, Cicero, Antony, Cleopatra, and Augustus. The course will examine primary sources (in translation) to determine if the Republic’s downfall was preventable, who was responsible.

📚The Foundation of Classics: Intro to Latin Levels 1-3

Learning Latin is the gateway to all further studies in Classics. These introductory level online learning experiences are designed to prepare students to read great works of Latin literature and eventually join one of our upper-level Reading Latin courses. Students will be introduced to fundamental Latin syntax, grammar, and vocabulary by reading adapted Latin passages from such Roman authors as Cicero.

This summer, a Hollywood blockbuster called “Odyssey” will take over the big screen. Before you see Christopher Nolan’s version, join Calder Classics to read Homer’s famous tale yourself. Student will read excerpts of the Ancient Greek story in translation, gaining a deeper understanding of the tradition of epic poetry.
