POV: when someone asks how the summer diet is going

Family is IMPORTANT!

Last weekend was filled with house viewing and a wonderful brunch catch up with my daughter.

How? I'm often asked.

Today is one of those days, where I am sitting on 58% progress on my Nutritional and personal trainer course. Blankly I stare into the screen while my brain screams trapped in a whirlwind of confusion, thoughts and exhasution just by trying to focus.

People often see my masking as coping, but for me they’re not the same thing. My ADHD masking is about hiding the parts of me so I can fit expectations and avoid judgment.

I overcompensate, push myself to seem more put together, and suppress struggles people don’t see. It might look like I’m coping, but often I’m just getting through the day while feeling drained.
Coping helps me manage my ADHD in ways that support me, masking often just hides how hard it actually feels.

People think medication fixes everything, but although my meds help, sometimes even with SSRIs it still feels like my serotonin isn’t enough for the awful feeling I get. I’m functioning, but that doesn’t always mean I’m okay.

Having said that I love how my husband supports me and my friends who check on me and know when something is up.

I’ve had a few people ask me for meal plans while using GLP-1 injections for weight loss.

Honestly, I feel uncomfortable charging for something that is actually very simple. And also cause I believe in educating not dishing meal plans.

GLP-1s are a tool but the focus still needs to be on the basics:

Protein
Whole foods
Fibre
Hydration
Strength training
Sustainable habits

People are overcomplicating it. This is what you should really be focusing on.

Also consult with your surgein about supplements. I am a big believer in Collagen, biotin and Vit E for skin, joints, hair and the rest.

You got this! do not let anyone scam you into powders or anything else.

I'm often asked if I take supplements.

Of course I do!! This is a few months old picture and it is more or less what I take. I do not take all of them daily as now I also introduced Omegas, creatine and Iron.
My ferritin has always been on the low side so am back trying to find the right brand that doesn't destroy my stomach.

I remember one time I was asked if I have Botox done...... before I answer, do not get me wrong, your body your choice but I would rather go under the knife :D
I fear the migration etc etc however I may look into a Nefertiti session.

I take collagen daily and my diet consists of higher protein. I am no longer on Keto, I found a balance with low-carb but on hard training days I increase my carbs a little.

Am I having cake? Of course I am!! Am I happy where my weight is? Number do play with my head a little but if I have to be honest the fact I can squat on one leg and come back up right now is all that matters.

I want mobility and strength when I am 70 or 80 not to look good in a size 8 for fashion reasons.

The process of building health is gradual.

You change your biology with every meal, every step, every night of sleep, and every choice you make to care for your body.

But something I wasn’t prepared for were the changes that come with age, hormones, and how perimenopause can affect everything else.

I’ve been dealing with double vision for over 3 years now, and so far no one seems to have a clear treatment or answers. I’ve done a lot of my own research, and I started pushing again for possible causes, things to explore, and what may help.

For now, I may have found my next fav glasses but not sure if to swap or not for while I keep waiting for more tests, I just need to decide if to change into prescription ones before I'm seen again.

Decisions. Decisions.

I can accept this season of life and the changes that come with it. What I won’t accept is being told, “it is what it is.”

Weight training with these cuties 🫶🏼😂

They’re around 9 kilos total so a few squats won’t harm 😂

And it’s a wrap!!!

What started as a workout turned into therapy 🫶🏼

80 miles covered in two days. Short breaks in between, cool down and warm up rides, stretching, yoga and mediation were a must!

Thank you for the support shown in stories and private messages 🫶🏼💕
