Today we celebrated a very special milestone as our kindergarten students officially moved up to first grade! 🎓❤️
From the songs they sang to the dances they performed and the certificates they proudly received, our youngest learners shined brightly. It was a joyful celebration filled with smiles, laughter, and a few happy tears as we reflected on how much they have grown this year.
A huge thank you to our incredible kindergarten teachers for their dedication, patience, and love. They helped build the foundation for a lifetime of learning and created memories that will last forever.
We are also grateful to the many parents, guardians, and family members who joined us to cheer on our students. Your support made this day even more special.
Congratulations, kindergarten graduates! We are so proud of all you have accomplished and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do in first grade. 🌟📚❤️

With graduation, the 5th grade dance, and their field trip coming up, our fifth graders still always make time for one more PS 199Q video. We’re going to miss their energy, school spirit, and all the fun they bring to our halls. 💙🎓
Life with them is louder, messier, funnier, and infinitely better. ❤️ They make every day brighter, which is exactly why the end of the year is so hard. 🥹✨
When your coworker is from a completely different generation than you, but somehow that’s exactly what makes it so much fun. Different references, different trends, same laughs every day. 🤍
Some of our favorite moments are when students raise their hands to ask a question... even if we’ve already answered it. 🤍
Career Day at PS 199 was an inspiring success!
Our students had the opportunity to hear from professionals across a wide variety of careers, including nurses, veterinarians, physical therapists, choreographers, police officers, bus drivers, psychologists, human resources professionals, title insurance specialists, bakery owners, Department of Transportation employees, and many more.
Each presenter shared their experiences, answered questions, and helped our students explore the many possibilities that await them in the future. Career Day encouraged our Falcons to dream big, discover new interests, and start thinking about the impact they can make in the world.
A huge thank you to all of our presenters for taking time out of their busy schedules to inspire the next generation. Your generosity, knowledge, and enthusiasm made this day truly special for our students!
Sunshine, smiles, and school spirit! ☀️💙 Field Day was one for the books! 🏃♀️🎉

🗳️✨ District 24 Civics Showcase ✨🗳️
We are so proud of our outstanding 4th and 5th grade students who represented PS 199 at the District 24 Civics Showcase! These student leaders shared what they have learned throughout the year about civic engagement, community involvement, and the power of making their voices heard.
From participating in Project Soapbox to helping shape our school’s Participatory Budget, students explored how civic participation can create meaningful change. They learned that no matter how young you are, your ideas matter and you can make a difference in your community.
A special thank you to Mrs. Vallerugo and Mrs. Berardi for helping prepare our students for this incredible opportunity and for inspiring the next generation of active and engaged citizens.
Not everything has to be a two-person job. Meanwhile, our students can turn every single task into a collaborative effort. 🤝❤️
