MINDSET MONDAY

How does starting a new month make you feel?

Does it feel fresh? Or bringing old things into a new month?
Here are a few ways to get your mind right in November...

Journal Prompt:
What am I grateful for today? How does a fresh start make me feel?
What practice or habit do I want to leave in October? What is a word that I can focus on for this new month that will help me stay focused during November?

Goal Setting:
* Pick a specific area or goal
* How will it be measured?
* Is it achievable by the end of November?
* Is it relevant to the area of focus?
* Create a schedule of steps to reach the goal

Track Progress
* Bullet Journal
* Electronic Task Manager
* Weekly check in with a friend
* Calendar
* Journal
* Posting about progress

Plan Ahead
* Use a calendar
* Break the goal down into daily actionable tasks
* Put the tasks in a calendar
* Treat them like a meeting that you would not skip

Mindset
Go into this month with the attitude and mindset of "I can do this". This will set you up for a win and train your mind to start out with hope. Say this to yourself every day this month.

Do you know your strengths?

Why not?

Here are few reasons why you should...

Gallup research shows that developing your strengths leads to an increase in employee engagement, increased sales, increased profit and increased performance.

Imagine how that could impact you! Here are a few ways you can do that right now...

1. Identify a natural strength (are you an excellen communicator, organizer, doer, learner?)

2. Research one way to improve that gift (example: Communicators can practice writing out what they want to say and rehearsing it before a conversation)

3. Implement that strategy for improvement every day for 1 month and journal how it has affected your performance and outcomes

Let me know how it goes in the comments!

Mindset Monday

Have you ever been faced with a door that closed in your face?

Here's a little story...

This past weekend I had the incredible opportunity to sit and listen to some amazing storytellers. Men of color who overcame some incredible odds to become successful businessmen, doctors, poets, and musicians.

One of the men speaking was telling us about a time that he got laid off from a job that he worked really hard to get.

He had the choice to look at it like a set back, or as an opportunity. What did he choose? He took it as an opportunity to create his own business and do the things he couldn't do in his other job.

Here is an exercise to help you with your mindset today:

Visualize yourself walking down a long hall. There are many doors in this hallway. Maybe one of the doors behind you was an opportunity that just closed in your face. That's okay.

Keep walking down this hall. Look at the doors, they are all different colors, with different k***s. There are many options. Suddenly a door opens.

Visualize yourself walking to that door. What color is it? Does it open in or out? How do you feel standing in front of that open door?

Now, visualize what you want to see behind that door. Visualize what you want your next opportunity to look like. Imagine yourself stepping through that door. How do you feel? What do you see?

Snap a mental picture. Walk down the hall, to this door, and through this door, as many times as you need, until you see this opportunity come to life.

This is a mindset shift. Leave those closed doors and missed opportunities behind you. The possibilities in front of you are endless!

• increase brain function
• increase energy levels
