CityKids Fdn are delighted to present The Artivist – Shining a Spotlight on Civil Right's Invisible Man - A One Man Show about Bayard Rustin, for Black History Month in The East Village Playhouse
Created by CityKids Alumni - Directed & Created by Carla Debble Alleyne, starring Keyonn Wright-Sheppard, Music by Hassan El-Gendi & produced by Andrew Ronan
The show will open January 24th and run until February 17th with shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm.

The show musically explores the life of Civil Rights activist Bayard Rustin through his speeches, songs, monologues, documentary footage, and letters. The show will explore Rustin's contributions as one of the first Freedom Riders, an adviser to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. Bayard also lived openly as a gay Black man in a society crippled with intolerance and bigotry.
