Great news!
The Family Care Act โ legislation that would create a statewide paid family and medical leave program in PA โ just passed out of the Senate Labor and Industry Committee!
Thank you to Senator Devlin Robinson and Senator Maria Collett for championing this important legislation!
Now, the bill will be debated by the full PA Senate, and we need to keep up the momentum!

Children First Action Fund was honored to join the retirement celebration for "Miss Margie," a beloved early childhood educator at Sunshine Christian Academy in Drexel Hill.
Early childhood educators like Miss Margie shape young lives, support working families, and strengthen our communities.
We're proud to partner with educators across Pennsylvania to elevate their voices and help voters understand the critical role they play in helping children and families thrive.

Last week, Children First and Children First Action Fund joined First Five Years Fund in Washington, D.C. to advocate for stronger federal investments in child care and early learning.
We met with legislators and their teams to discuss increased funding for the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG), Head Start, Preschool Development Grants, and support for the Child Care Modernization Act.
Thank you to First Five Years Fund for hosting us and for your continued leadership in federal child care advocacy.

Tomorrow, Philadelphians will decide whether the Office of Youth Ombudsperson (OYO) will become permanent.
This independent office was created to protect children in placement from abuse, neglect, and mistreatment after the abuse of hundreds of youths at the Glen Mills school.
If this measure fails, children in residential care facilities will lose a critical independent voice that stands up for their safety and rights.
Protect Philly children. Vote โYESโ on Ballot Measure #2 on May 19th.
