Is holding a dyslexic student back a good idea?

For students with learning disabilities, simply repeating the same year with the same instruction is unlikely to change outcomes. What matters is what happens differently the second time around.
Students need:

✔️ Early identification
✔️ Evidence based instruction
✔️ Intensive intervention
✔️ Structured literacy approaches
✔️ Progress monitoring
✔️ The right supports and accommodations

A child with dyslexia does not just need “more time.” They need instruction that matches how they learn. 💙

“Repetition of the same program that failed in one year will not likely do any better a second time around.” Reading Rockets
