This simple penny experiment is packed with learning opportunities 🧪✨
Before starting, invite your child to make a prediction (scientists call this a hypothesis!) about how many drops of water will fit on a penny.
As they explore, they’re building:
🔹 Scientific thinking
🔹 Vocabulary development
🔹 Counting skills
🔹 Fine motor control
🔹 Patience and persistence
Try asking:
💧 What do you notice?
💧 Was your prediction correct?
💧 What do you think will happen if we try again?
Want to extend the learning? Test different coins or add a drop of dish soap and compare the results.
Save this activity for your next science day!

Not all kids therapy is the same and most parents are never really told what the differences are.
Some kids do best with play therapy where they can work through emotions through play instead of words. Some benefit from CBT where they learn how thoughts feelings and behaviors are connected. Some need parent coaching like PCIT where the focus is improving connection and behavior together. Others may benefit from trauma focused therapy like EMDR or skills based support like DBT and mindfulness for big emotions.
There is no one best type of therapy. The right support depends on your child and what they are struggling with.
Save this for when you are trying to figure out what all the options actually mean.

I’ve been singing this exact song to him since he was a newborn 👏
At first, I always modeled clapping face-to-face so he could clearly watch my hands and connect the movement to the words.
Now at 9 months, he recognizes the song and claps independently when he hears it.
This is such a great example of how babies learn through:
✨ repetition
✨ visual modeling
✨ imitation
✨ consistent routines
Sometimes the simplest playful routines become powerful learning opportunities.
Save this simple song to try with your baby!
Language learning doesn’t have to be complicated!
One of the BEST ways to build communication is during simple, motivating play routines like this one.
While we play, I’m:
• labeling actions as we do them (“open,” “in”)
• labeling objects (“ball,” “door”)
• repeating single words often
• using short, simple language
• pairing gestures with words (pointing)
Repetition + simple language helps babies connect words with actions and meaning over time. You don’t need fancy toys or planned activities to support language development.
Simple play = powerful learning ✨
