Can you believe we are already at the midpoint of our Science Superhero Week at IVP? It has been an absolute whirlwind of energy, creativity, and breakthrough moments in our "Secret Lab." 🦸‍♂️✨

At IVP, we have a core philosophy: STEM isn't just about equations, wires, or plastic straws—it’s about people and community. This week, our brilliant campers aren't just learning advanced science; they are discovering the real-world superheroes who used their minds to change the world, and exploring how scientific advances directly lift up the communities around them.

Here is a look at the superhero matrix we’ve unlocked so far:

✨ Monday: Bertha Parker – We looked at how she literally changed history! As one of the first Native American archaeologists, her keen eye and relentless determination forced the scientific world to rewrite what it knew about ancient history and indigenous cultures.

🩺 Tuesday: Dr. Helen Rodríguez Trías – We explored how she used medicine to help people on a massive scale. As a pioneering pediatrician and activist, she showed our campers that health belongs to everyone, fighting for patient rights and giving local communities an equal voice in how they were cared for.

🦾 Today: Lonnie Johnson – We are diving into how he inspired millions! From working on NASA spacecraft to inventing the iconic Super Soaker water gun, he proved that a true engineer never gives up, turning complex fluid physics into pure, joyful play for generations of kids.

What’s happening right now? Today, our campers took everything they've learned and stepped up to their own presentation boards. They are mapping out their custom inventions, but they aren’t just answering "How does it work?" Thanks to the inspiration of these heroes, they are answering the big questions: "Who does my invention help?" and "How will my invention change the world?" 🌍💡
