There are a few things I really wish someone had told me earlier in my parenting journey.
That big feelings aren’t misbehavior — they’re a nervous system asking for help.
That what we do in the moment matters more than the perfect explanation we think of later.
And that kids don’t learn how to calm down from lectures… they learn it by feeling safe with us, over and over again.
I didn’t always know this. I didn’t always respond calmly. I’m still learning, honestly.
But once I stopped trying to “fix” the feelings and focused on supporting them, things started to shift in our home.
If you’re in the middle of this right now — if you’re figuring it out as you go — you’re not behind.
You’re doing something really important. 💛

Hi, I’m Sarah.
You probably won’t see me posting here a lot. Not because I don’t care, but because I’m right in it with you trying to hold it all together while raising little kids with very big feelings.
I’m a former teacher and SEL educator, and now I work as a parent coach at RaiseCalm.
One morning, everything just piled up. Milk tipped over, we couldn’t find the shoes, and my 4-year-old was melting down so loudly it startled the dog.
I totally shut down. Then I snapped. And later, I sat on the bathroom floor crying, wondering how all the things I knew seemed to vanish the second things got loud.
That was the moment I realized I needed something different. Not another book. Not a perfect system. Just something simple I could reach for right in the middle of the chaos.
So I started creating what I wish I’d had back then. Small, practical tools for real moments.
If you found me through an ad, a friend, or during a late-night scroll after the kids were finally asleep, I’m really glad you’re here. I hope these tools support you the way they supported me.
And truly feel free to reach out. 💛
