The sun came out just in time for us to have a great event with the City of Sherman Parks & Recreation for families in our community who have children with Autism, Down Syndrome and other special needs. It was encouraging to have colleagues from other swim schools in Texas, community leaders and lifeguards volunteer to learn and serve with us.

Sherman adaptive water safety event teaches families with special needs children Sherman held its second annual Adaptive Water Safety Day on Sunday, offering specialized swim instruction to families with children who have autism, ADHD, anxiety and other specialized needs.

We are so excited to be serving 194 😮families this summer with water safety instruction & swim lessons. 💦

With our growth we have added an Administrative Assistant & moved communication to Group Me.
We are asking all parents who currently have kids booked for lessons this summer to join our Group Me, if you haven’t already. ✅

This achievement would not have been possible without the amazing support of our community. Thank you to every participant who registered, every family who attended, every donor who contributed, every sponsor who invested in our mission, and every volunteer who gave their time and energy to make race day a success.

Your generosity, hard work, and belief in this event allowed us to turn a day of fun, fitness, and community into a meaningful contribution that will help provide swim lessons and opportunities for autistic children through Texoma Swim Academy.

Because of Blaze, our family understands just how important swim safety is within the autism community and how critical it is to provide children with access to water safety education and swim instruction. Supporting opportunities like these is something that is deeply meaningful to us, and we are honored to be able to give back in this way.
