Following a labor strike that began on June 2, 2026, Square One leadership have announced that an agreement has been reached. Early education staff, van drivers and food service workers will return to work on Friday, June 12, 2026.

As Square One leaders continue to negotiate with the union representing the non-profit agency’s striking teachers, drivers and food service workers, President & CEO Dawn DiStefano has issued a statement to provide the community with an update on this important matter.

Square One preschool centers will be open from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. After-school programs will run until 6:00 p.m. at our King Street location. We apologize for the inconvenience, but transportation services are temporarily unavailable. Thank you for your patience.
