The Northern San Joaquin Section (NSJS) was established in 1922 and originally affiliated with the California Water Pollution Control Association (CWPCA).

The purpose of this section is to enhance the education and technology to protect the quality of our water resources and to promote the ecological balance with the environment's other resouces such as land and air. The NSJS is now affiliated with the California Water Environment Association and has a membership of over 400 water and wastewater professionals. Officially, the NSJS includes Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties.

💧**Thank you, City of Merced Lab!**💙
The CWEA Northern San Joaquin Section Laboratory Committee had an amazing time touring the Merced Wastewater Treatment Plant and Laboratory on July 3rd! 🙌 Big thanks to the Merced team for hosting and sharing their impressive ELAP & TNI-2 certified operations.

We’re always looking for more CWEA members to get involved, learn something new, and connect with peers in the field. Stay tuned for our next lab committee event — we’d love to see you there! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬🧪
