Happy World Donkey Day! We've all seen some jackasses out at Lake Pleasant - but also some burros, too. ;-) The donkey has been used as a working animal for thousands of years, hence the yearly celebration on May 8th. The wild burros in Arizona are part cute tourist attraction, and part nuisance. In their current overpopulated state, studies have found negative effects on the desert habitat from the burros eating Palo Verde and Ironwood trees. (We've also heard they eat cake and gummies...)
