Victor Elementary School

Dear TUSD Staff, Students, and Families,

As the school year has closed and my career in education officially comes to an end, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude.

Over the past several weeks, I have been literally overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity, and love shown to me by so many people. To the Victor families, former Victor students, former students and families from Carr Elementary School and J.H. Hull Middle School, colleagues past and present, friends, and community members who reached out with cards, gifts, notes of appreciation, and words of encouragement—thank you!

I have done my best to thank everyone personally, but the outpouring of support has been so tremendous that I know I may have unintentionally missed some individuals. Please note that every card, gift, note, memory, and kind word has meant more to me than words can express.

When I began teaching 30 years ago, I could never have imagined the incredible journey that lay ahead. Looking back, I am filled with gratitude for the tens of thousands of students, thousands of families, and hundreds of dedicated colleagues who have enriched my life and made this career so meaningful. The relationships, memories, challenges, successes, laughter, and lessons learned along the way have shaped me in so many ways.

Education has been far more than a profession to me—it has been a privilege and a calling. Serving the students and families of Torrance Unified has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Another amazing theater production in the books! Victor 4th and 5th graders performed “Character Matters” tonight! Under the direction of Mr. Kyle and Mrs. Koo they put on a wonderful performance!

Another 1st place trophy to add to our trophy case! Congrats to our amazing students: Luke C., Vaani S., Aditi N., Li M., Sebastian Y., Matthew K., Ved V., and Hitarthi P. for your outstanding work at TUSD’s Elementary School Academic Pentathlon!

Let’s give a big shout out to our 4th grade Math Field Day contestants Rehaan R., Hitarthi P., Rithik G., and Matthew K. for placing 1st in this year’s TUSD Math Field Day competition that took place this past Saturday at JH Hull Middle School! What an accomplishment as they competed against 14 other elementary schools in Torrance! Way to go Vikings!!!

Special thanks to Torrance South Bay and Sunshine Rotary Clubs for generously gifting each of our 3rd grade students a copy of the Student’s Dictionary ! Your support helps strengthen literacy and inspire a love of learning in our students. All of us at Victor appreciate this!

Our Victor Student Council showed what it means to be a civic minded, empathetic, and collaborative leader- core values of Portrait of a Graduate. Through our partnership with we proudly collected toys to support families served by 1737 Family Crisis Center. Nice work Victor Vikings!

We’re proud to be named a 2025 Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll school, which recognizes high-performing, achievement gap-closing schools across the nation. The Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll, sponsored by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence, is the only school award given in collaboration with state and local business leaders. The Honor Roll is a valuable resource for all schools to identify successful peers and learn about best practices that are improving student achievement.
