A message from Jodi’s family during the always difficult month of June, bookended with her birthday on the 5th and the abduction anniversary on the 27th.

Let's bring Jodi home to Long Prairie, Minnesota.

The month of June is always a hard month for us having Jodi’s birthday at the start and the date of her going missing towards the end. This is a month where we especially take time to reflect and remember Jodi the person and how much love & joy she brought to our lives and to all of those closest to her.

With a case of this scope and magnitude, it is like an iceberg in that you only see a small part at the surface and not everything happening underneath. From where we sit, in the eye of the storm and a front row seat to everything, we can tell you this from our own experience: quiet does not necessarily mean dormancy and inaction just as being vocal and creating noise is not indicative of momentum and progress. With anything being presented, especially with a lot of hype and fanfare, one should take a step back and fully evaluate it before taking it as fact or jumping to conclusions. If it is a consistent pattern, including the timing of information presented, the messaging, and the delivery, it merits more research and asking deeper questions before elevating it or continuing to propagate it, especially when similar like claims have not garnered meaningful results. Not only can it be reckless, it is also damaging and hurtful.

At this time, we kindly ask for space in the time that remains this month as we edge closer to marking another year without answers. Our sincerest gratitude for your messages of kindness and love and your genuine concern and interest in Jodi and seeing her case resolved. Your support gives us strength and encouragement, especially on the more difficult days.

With love,

Jodi's family

When Jodi Huisentruit disappeared on June 27, 1995, the people who loved her refused to stay silent.

Her closest friends from Long Prairie, Minnesota gathered for a golf tournament in her honor, wearing shirts with her photo and her tip line number. Jodi had twice helped lead Long Prairie to high school state championships, and her community never forgot her.

In Mason City, Iowa, where Jodi was abducted on her way to anchor the morning news at KIMT-TV, friends and viewers wore ribbons, posted flyers, put up billboards, and released balloons, all to keep her name visible and bring answers to her family.

As another anniversary approaches, and Jodi is still missing, we would love to see your photos from those early days. If you saved anything from 1995 or beyond, please share it here or send it to [email protected].

Thank you to Jodi’s friend Kim for sharing this special photo from Jodi’s hometown.

Let's bring Jodi home to Long Prairie, Minnesota.

Somewhere out there, someone knows what happened to Jodi Huisentruit.

Today Jodi would have turned 58. She was a bright, warm young woman whose career as a television news anchor was just taking off when she vanished in the early morning darkness on her way to deliver the Daybreak newscast at KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa, on June 27, 1995.

Jodi had just celebrated her 27th birthday three weeks before. More than three decades later, her family still has no answers, no peace.

Thirty-one birthdays. Thirty Thanksgivings. Thirty Christmases. The milestones keep passing, and the silence continues.

If you have information, please speak up. It’s never too late to do the right thing.

Do it for Jodi. For her family. For the truth.

Anyone with information about Jodi’s case is encouraged to contact the Mason City Police Department at (641) 421-3636, Iowa DCI Special Agent Ryan Herman at [email protected], or the FindJodi team at [email protected].

Please. Don’t let her family mark another birthday not knowing where Jodi is.

A message from Jodi Huisentruit’s family as they face one of the toughest times of the year. This Friday would have been Jodi’s 58th birthday, and June 27 marks 31 years with no answers about what happened to the young Iowa news anchor with such a promising future.

It’s time to bring Jodi home to Long Prairie, Minnesota.

We want to put the attention this week where it should be: Jodi, the person. The daughter, sister, niece, aunt, godmother, friend, colleague, and all of the other titles she held while we were blessed to have her here with us. She is SO much more than what happened to her and all of the stories and speculation that has come after, and she deserves to have her story and her memory be respected and highlighted, especially this month.

This Friday will mark Jodi’s 58th birthday. Jodi had a generosity of spirit and was never one to make the story about herself. To honor Jodi’s spirit between now and then, take time to make those around you feel seen, heard, and valued as she strived to do. 🩷

Just one week before Jodi Huisentruit’s 58th birthday, FindJodi has installed three new billboards in Mason City, Iowa.

That is where the 27-year-old Long Prairie, Minnesota, native disappeared in the dark on her way to anchor the morning news at KIMT-TV. She's never been seen since June 27,1995.

Our billboard's message on the upcoming 31st anniversary of Jodi’s disappearance is both heartbreaking and simple: “Still Missing.”

These are the fourth version of FindJodi billboards since the first ones went up in Mason City on June 5, 2018, on what would have been Jodi’s 50th birthday.

The message :"Somebody knows something. Is it YOU?” Eight years later, the same question stands. We hope someone will not make Jodi’s family wait another year for answers. That someone could be the person who abducted Jodi and stole her promising future. Or it could be someone close to the abductor who has carried this secret for decades. Is it YOU?

Do the right thing and help bring Jodi home.

If you have any information regarding what happened to Jodi, call the Mason City Police Department at (641) 421-3636 or email Iowa DCI Special Agent Ryan Herman at [email protected]

(Thank you to Reagan Outdoor Advertising's Ashley Billings for sending us the photos of the new billboards.)

A message from Jodi's family with her 58th birthday just over a week away on June 5.

Please keep Jodi's loved ones in mind as they prepare for the always difficult month of June.

As we sadly approach another birthday for Jodi without her here and another year marker of Jodi being missing, I was reminded of something I wrote nearly four years ago on 6/27 to honestly just get my feelings out on that day. At that time, I had hoped it would be the last of its kind that I would have to write, but as we all know, it unfortunately was not. In reading it back now, it is raw and still very real today. It’s never easy to share these things, but my hope is that one day soon there will be someone who finally decides now is the time to do the right thing and comes forward with the answers we so desperately need.

“Today is a hard day. It always is and has been for the last 27 years. I've found a peaceful place this afternoon where I can just sit & be still while reflecting on how much my life and my family's life changed on June 27, 1995. I miss my aunt. I mourn for the life and experiences she didn't get to have. For someone who loved life as much as she did, it is a cruel twist of fate to have had hers cut so short at just 27 years old. I mourn for myself and the experiences that we missed out on sharing with each other. My hope is that I am someone she would be proud of. There are no words that fully encompass how it feels to still have her be missing and to not have any answers after 27 years. You do not move on, as this is always a part of you, but you move forward in your life the best way you can because you know she would want you to. It is unfathomable to me that the person or persons who committed this heinous crime are ok with allowing us, her family and close friends, to continue to suffer every day instead of taking accountability for their actions and giving us some bit of peace. I pray that someday your conscience finally convinces you to do the right thing. To the dear friends and family who have supported us on this journey with love, compassion, and understanding - I am so grateful for you. Your kindness and support help me more than you know. To my dear Aunt Jodi - I love you & miss you always.❤️”
